It's not the same thing. Does GameInformer or IGN have to pay a fee to be able to review the latest Nintendo game in written form? No. So why should a YouTuber doing the same thing in video form have to lose out on revenue because they showed footage of the game they're reviewing? (Which, unlike an outlet like IGN, they probably had to pay for in the first place!).

 

He doesn't have to make that connection. People are idiots and that's how they'll operate.

I never said Nintendo isn't a bunch of assholes. I'm saying don't encourage pirating games from big, AAA companies because people can easily be influenced and start believing it's an okay thing to practice in general, which it is not.

 

You can’t blame him for that, he’s pretty clear that he’s only talking about Nintendo and lays out the case in detail. He’s not saying pirate games from anyone. And people that are going to pirate any games without caring don’t need him to tell them to do it.

Also he’s technically not outright encouraging people to do it, he’s just saying if you do it then that’s ok.

 

I can definitely blame him for that. You can easily criticize a company and the way they handle copyright and their business practices without telling people it's morally okay to pirate their games.

 

I have two options for playing FE path of radiance, paying £130 for a used copy or pirating it. Port it to Switch and I'd happily pay for it. idk Nintendo are doing something wrong here

 

re: Nintendo piracy, Dolphin runs some of these games so well it may as well be a budget remaster. i booted up Mario Golf Toadstool Tour on my goddamn phone last night and it feels like it runs at pure 60fps and is upres'd really nicely. really excited to replay TTYD this way.

HM AWL is one of those games that I still enjoyed as an adult, but the magic from when I was a kid was definitely gone lol
