Just had my summer job delayed/shortened that's all, nothing too drastic

 

Is this man really gonna make me watch a food network show lmao

 

Anyone getting their album tomorrow? I don't think I am sadly, just shipped from KS late last night

 

No idea. I ordered the LP from my local record store and I'm not sure if they've got it in yet. I supposed I should ask!

 

I just wanna hear the album tomorrow, that's all I want. I'm glad he's supporting indie stores of course but my brain is so accustomed to new albums being on spotify at 11 pm central on a Thurs night haha

 

I feel like it will end up leaking tomorrow even if you don't get your copy, but who knows. This is an unusual situation.

 

Mine shipped out early this morning but I have no idea how long it is going to take. It is only coming from Rhode Island, so I'm hoping maybe only a couple of days.

I don't have my ear to the ground with leaks like in the pre-streaming era so I have no idea how prevalent leaks are these days

 

Most things are usually out there by around mid-day Thursday, because by then they've been officially released in other parts of the world. That's not going to happen here, because it's not digital, but it's a highly anticipated album and CD copies are shipping out, so I'm sure a rip will show up.

I'm not getting my copy until Wednesday apparently, so that sucks!

 

The indie stores with the indie variant to be released tomorrow should already have their shipments. If you have the option of picking it up then should definitely be able to tomorrow

 

I ordered that from my local store for delivery and they called me today to offer curbiside pickup tomorrow!! Wooo

 

My local record store has been awesome and delivering stuff free from their online store if you’re in the area...I *think* mine is coming tomorrow. Wasn’t able to get the orange color though, sold out super fast :(

 

I ordered from a store about a mile away, and they're doing everything from a central distribution hub. Not sure how, but mine is supposed to be here on Monday (even though the store is about a mile from me?)

Either way, still a week ahead of schedule, and I could help out a local store.

 

Okay I don't know where I ranked "Only Children" in that best songs exercise we did a few weeks back but it was wrong whatever it was. Saw his performance of the song with Amanda on Trevor Noah just now and it was absolutely breathtaking. Song's an absolute all-timer.

His interview on the show was interesting too, talked some about the themes of the new record and how he wrote it among other stuff. I don't have cable and was still able to watch it here if yall are interested (Jason starts around the 25 min mark):

this might be the first time I’ve had my first listen of an album be via vinyl. It’s so pretty too

Got mine! Enjoyed all the new songs on first listen. River was an unexpected sound.

 

Awesome performance and awesome interview. Loved the part about how he's learned to accept and befriend his former self. Gives new meaning to the album title.

 

I’d love to just sit down and talk with him, he always gives such thoughtful interviews and seems like a genuinely good guy.

 

Well Jason's scheme to support local stores seems to have worked because I called some stores in STL since my CD copy won't be delivered til next week and everywhere within 90 min of here is sold out haha. Good for him!

 

I seriously might drive to Effingham, IL tomorrow to get one though if it doesn't leak, not like I have anything else going on

 

I didn’t get my copy but I did get an advance stream finally, and hoo boy, “Overseas” on record is a marvel.
