My roommate works in that office. She's happy the floors look nice, but has to call people all day to let them know they are infected with the virus. Lotta give/take there.

Interesting look at a county in California , that seemingly has handled this just about perfectly from the start.

 

Cop’s name is Francisco Garcia and he’s got a history of violence (there’s a shocker). He’s been placed on desk duty and had his gun taken away. Guy he brutalized is Donni Wright, a groundskeeper for the New York Housing Authority. All charges against Donni have thankfully been dropped, but Garcia’s still got a job and he’s still a cop.

 

There’s a lady who is kind of in my family who always posts photos of her dirty feet, pimples, rashes, and canker sores on Instagram.

It’s important to know that she attended the Boston rally to open up the country. Fucking idiots.

 

TBF, national guard troops suited up in gas masks on the streets with their rifles slung on their shoulders and people actually being locked inside instead of basically going out whenever they want under a quasi "stay at home order" would lower the amount of chances for interaction between the two.

Our state had a pretty good day as far as covid data goes. We had ~650 tests done which is probably near our high for total tests done in a day and only 80 positives. Has to be our lowest % positive so far

 

If you think any armed forces of any kind in America will treat people of various class and races equally in a lockdown scenario then you have a falsely optimistic opinion of race and class in America. You just posted a video of an absolute abuse of power and still believe that the national guard would enforce a lockdown in the proper way in poor communities? The same national guard in December had to kick out members or being white nationalists.

People in power in America are in power to control or abuse authority over those who are deemed below them in class or race, full stop.

 

Isn't that convenient. "Hey, we totally want those records released but, oh well, the Senate won't do it."

 

As a side note it’s crazy that the Senate gets to just decide their records are confidential and exempt from public records disclosures. Seems like a clear conflict of interest there.

 

I totally get the office not being able to release those records and being bound by what they can and cannot release, but I also believe Biden's team knew ahead of writing the letter that this is the kind of response they'd get and be covered.

 

Yeah, they obviously know Senate rules & procedures. It's why they made this request specifically but will not request the release of Biden's Senate papers from the University of Delaware lol

Also, it's so great to just hand Trump a retort to the "he won't release his taxes" line of attack on a silver platter. "I'm under audit so I can't release my taxes. What's stopping you from releasing the University of Delaware papers, Sleepy Joe?"

 

I said the chances for interaction between the people and the nat guard would be exceptionally lower under a strict quarantine and patrols, not that the interactions that would happen would be equal.

Likewise, the inequality in who is going to suffer the impacts of Covid19 the worst under the quasi-plans were enacting now (as well as just flat out opening up) is probably going to result in more deaths for those groups than a strict lockdown would.

 

Considering the Senate is run by republicans, I don't get why they wouldn't want to release records that are damaging to Trump's opponent?

 

You think the republicans want to open that can of worms where senate records are released? lol I’m sure this is a bipartisan decision
