While we're bringing up random bands, I think No Closer to Heaven is worse than it was 11 months ago

I'm just bored waiting for the next song from YC.

Folie รก Deux is way underrated.

Also NCTH is worse than TGG but better than Upsides or Suburbia, and better than people give it credit for. It does suffer from 3 issues though: poor sequencing, problematic production, and too many songs.

Back to Yellowcard, I really like "Rest In Peace" and I (not too boldly) predict this will be in the top half of Yellowcard's discography. Not quite to SA or PW standards, but right up there with OA and LaS.

It took me a few minutes to even remember which band released an album called that. Think I listened to it in full once, and haven't listened to a song off it since.

I want to hear that answer from both Thomas and @Jason Tate, as I listened to the NCTH episode of the podcast recently and that's what inspired my re-listen

I hadn't either until last night. I really think I like it even less than when it came out.

I'd agree NCTH has fallen in my eyes. It was easily my favorite album towards the end, but Copacetic easily passed that and I got even more into Suburbia after my vinyl got fucked up when No Sleep moved inventory from Cali to NY with MerchNow. I'm still bitter about that

NCTH is the second best TWY record and I love it

MY TWY opinions are like YC opinions, I have so many feelings associated with each album and they always change. Same with Being as an Ocean too. I can't fully rank their albums either

NCTH is easily the weakest of the last four in every way. Kind of unbelievable how big a step down it is.

It's not cohesive at all in theme, has their worst production yet, worst melodies yet, and overall doesn't do nearly enough to differentiate itself from the TGG sound (other than lesser songwriting).

Its plenty cohesive, the production is decent, the melodies are great, and does plenty to diffrentiate itself from TGG (other than slightly better songwriting)

Not a fan of this band. Very overrated in my eyes. If anything I can say that production on TGG is awful, too. The sound is just so cheap and bad, I don't even wanna start.

They've fallen far for me as a whole. TGG was easily my AOTY in 2013 but now would struggle to make my top 30 of 2013. It's weird, they went from being probably my favorite band to one I almost never listen to and whose best record (TGG) I think is only okay.

Just listened to NCTH for the first time. Production is just as awful. Holy shit.

I think it's better than Suburbia and The Upsides but still not very good. Got a few great songs though.

Only The Upsides has decent production.

They could benefit so much from a different producer, both to make their records sound better and to push their sound in a new, less stale direction.

I don't love any of their albums, but the prior three are better because they feel like legitimate, cohesive, full album statements, while NCTH seems painfully forced and nothing about it is earned.
