Sancho signing with Newcastle over United would be the new Robinho signing with City over Chelsea.

Messi scored his first Barca goal 15 years ago to the day. And the rest they say is history.

In the case of Plymouth Argyle or w/e I think people just default to Leeds because it's the easy "they were jerks to everyone for a period" club. As a football fan who didn't watch much before the 2010s (mainly starting in like 2004-06 period at all) Leeds have always been a historical artifact. Last time they were in the conversation was the early 2000s obviously, and I think it would be really interesting for them to get back and be an OK team in the Premier League, mainly because as far as I know they are really far and away the only professional club in that region of England.

Also I could not tell you a major club (and by major just from that region and plays in the Football League) from Cornwall for instance. Similarly with Italy; in Calabria the most notable football club is U.S. Catanzaro, which have not played in Serie A since the early 80s? (when Claudio Ranieri played for them!)

Also wait what? Leeds aren’t the only professional football team in Yorkshire. Sheffield United are 6th in the league!

also FC Crotone were in Serie A two seasons ago, they’re in Serie B now.

You're right, and Reggnia were in Serie A about a decade ago. As for Sheffield United (and Wednesday, which is the best naming convention ever) and even Huddersfield - I'm talking from Leeds itself moreso. It is not like there is a Manchester City or Everton equivalent in Leeds for the club to bounce off of naturally. Again unless I'm forgetting something.

Huddersfield and Bradford are the big local rivals for Leeds, in football and rugby.

Yeah I mean Leeds and Bradford even share an airport so I'd say they count. Also important to point out Leeds is deep in Rugby League territory. So a lot of the smaller towns around the city have rugby teams rather than football teams (Castleford and Wakefield, for example). So rivalries are played out that way for locals.

That same cannabis company (Swissx) that are linked to sponsoring the Nou Camp are now linked with sponsoring Everton from next season, too.

4 years ago today that Spurs had the mother of all meltdowns and tried to break a few Chelsea players legs.

Oh and Leicester won the league.

What an insane season. Leicester won the league before some big clubs.

Tottenham came third in what people were at one stage calling a two horse race.

Gordon Taylor has come out and said when football resumes, halves might not be 45 minutes.

Honestly, if you're having to change the integrity of the game just for it to come back, maybe that tells you all you need to know. End the season as is and just come back next year. Can you imagine the chaos if a team gets relegated based on a schedule that only gave them an hour to win a match that their rivals had 90 minutes to win?

If football comes back, with all the testing that entails, and there are still keyworkers in this country not able to access a test, I honestly might stop following the sport. That would be going too far for me.

I can't see why they'd need to do that. Think there's a lot of people just desperately scrabbling around for column inches now.

I think it's more they're throwing everything at a wall and seeing what sticks. He's said it in a written interview - shorter halves, more subs, neutral venues, no relegation. They're all on the table. Whether it happens or not is a different question, I can't see it being agreed to, but yeah.

If this pandemic has been good for anything, it's showing me which businesses abuse their staff and opened my eyes to which no longer deserve my money.

Sports Direct (although that was already known), Weatherspoons, the Premier League are well on their way there.

(Obviously I know these businesses are all owned by billionaires who won't miss my money one bit, but just for my moral peace of mind).

Tim Martin buried himself during Brexit and then doubled down with this, trying to claim that his pubs should be allowed to stay open because they're no more problematic than supermarkets. Absolute clown. Dyson can fuck off as well.

Absolutely. Brexit proved he was an idiot with only his own interests at heart. This has proven that he actively despises his staff, telling them if they're concerned to just get a job somewhere else. I don't care, I'll spend £1 more on a pint to keep it out of his greedy pockets.

Dyson campaigning for Brexit then immediately moving their headquarters to Singapore or whenever it was too, total tosser. Virgin, with one of the world's richest men as their owner who moved to an island in the middle of no where to avoid paying tax in the UK, asking for a Government handout worth hundreds of millions too.

The Premier League is going to finish, too much money at stake for it not to. Whether it should or not is a discussion people outside the boardrooms will have, but as far as I've seen it the league and clubs care more about money than anything else in this situation.

It was probably obvious when this first started and the league wanted to continue games despite Arsenal going into isolation after Arteta was diagnosed with it.
