  1. Behemoth - Chant for Ezkaton 2000 e.v. => Already one of the most memorable openers I've witnessed live, and ever since, the riff that mainly makes up the song has been stuck in my head. Exploring their discography has been a blast lately. Not well versed or care enough about subgenres, but it sounds like classic death with some black metal elements I guess?
Textures - Storm Warning => A groove/prog metal precursor of the 10's djent scene, Silhouettes blew my mind in 2008 and still regularly goes back in my rotation. It hasn't aged one bit.
In Flames - Swim => Just taking the opportunity to highlight my favorite song from them after all these years.

To give this an attempt based off what I'm listening to today:

    1) Dismember - Like an Everflowing Stream - Override of the Overture (First song off the first album from the HM-2 infused death metal legends. Probably one of my favorite intro riffs of all time)

    2) Death Toll 80k - Step Down - Silent Approval (Track from my favorite grindcore release over the last 3-4 years. Rad Finnish band that creates primitive, heavy grind boppers)

    3) Crypt Sermon - Ruins of Fading Light - Key of Solomon (Favorite track off of a release I was surprised I enjoyed as much as I did last year as this stuff isn't usually my lane. Dope doom band).

I don't really use Spotify, but I'll contribute, and I will probably peep the playlist anyway...

Picked some slightly older (10-20 years) lesser known bands for today...

This band only put out the one record and went through a few different lineup changes just recording/touring on it, but it's one of my favorite "one and done" albums ever. Fairly unknown band as well. If you like this track, check out the whole album, I had a tough time picking one song. The singer went on to be in Acaro (which I believe has also disbanded)

A new song from a lesser known band from the early 2000s. FFO: Divine Heresy, Fear Factory, heavy breakdowns.

This one kind of borders on numetal, but it's pretty heavy. It's a little older, from around when numetal was popping, but these dudes were relatively unknown and were one of my favorites.

That trigger point song is not on spotify :(. Mind picking something else? I already added your other two. And I remember Bleed the Sky! Paradigm in Entropy was a bop in 6th grade! And I don't mean it in a derogatory way, I just mean I loved them when I discovered them then. Looking forward to checking the song you posted.

There’s lots of Facebook vinyl groups where people are doing auctions and man.... some very good deals for original pressings. Especially that Youthanasia, it’s a UK translucent blue, limited to only 1000 in 1994.

Ok here are my 3 for today.

    1. Pijn/Conjurer - Curse These Metal Hands - "Sunday". A collab album between a sludge band and a post-rock band? Hell yeah. I forget who first posted this album last year but it's one of my go-to sleep albums.
    2. Children of Bodom - Follow the Reaper - "Follow the Reaper". One of the earliest heavy bands I started listening to way back in high school. I haven't given a damn about this band in over a decade but I'll always love this album and this song in particular. I'll never forget hearing the guitar harmonies during the bridge for the first time, and then playing that part with a bandmate for a test in our guitar class senior year.
    3. Protector - Golem - "Protector of Death". Debut album from the German thrash band in the vein of Kreator. Came out the year I was born and I stumbled upon it looking into lesser known thrash albums from the era. I was gonna wait to post it tomorrow because it looks like THRASH METAL THVRSDAYS will have to start again, but I couldn't wait.

    this is fun!

I once was in a record shop where I came across a pile of OG pressings of the Slayer records through Seasons, but they belonged to the owner and they weren't for sale. Could only imagine what they cost

sucks about Trigger Point, but that's understandable.

hopefully this is on Spotify. If not, just the 2 songs is cool for today.

and yes, Paradigm in Entropy was awesome. Their new album is good too though. Saw them back in January and they were still killer live.

  24. Yeah what @KidLightning said. I didn't want to clog up the thread with videos as my computer would freak out lol.

Thrilled to go back to that playlist regularly. I already love that Crypt Sermon song. Seeing Burn In Silence is cool as I coincidentally got into them recently. They had quite an unique sound for a metalcore band.

I loved it, it felt like a total throwback to the early 00's. It's very Chimaira, God Forbid or Throwdown to me.

    a literal succubitch

    Alright, I'll bite.

    1. Baalsebub - The Sickness of the Holy Inquisition - Pear of Anguish. Selected for its absolute repulsive filth. One of my favorite brutal-death bands. That snare sounds like it's about to break and that's exactly the point.
    2. Shadow Of Intent - Reclaimer - The Mad Tyrant's Betrayal. I almost picked The Heretic Prevails for its incredible breakdown, but I think the songwriting is a bit stronger here. Also, it's about Halo. So that's cool.
    3. Unleash The Archers - Explorers - Northwest Passage. Power metal band covers a folk sea shanty. Genuine greatness ensues. This was one of my favorite tracks of last year, easily top five.
