Ok I did it

I bought Animal Crossing for the wife because she needs a relaxing gaming experience

Let me tell you, watching her run around the island to catch bugs and hit trees with an axe is worth the price alone. She's way into it.

Yeah I saw that announcement, but isn’t the new soundtrack just the same one but with better sound quality?

 

Eh, artistically it is amazing but to me personally the fact that XC2 is so blurry, even on the TV, is one of the biggest disappointments to come out of Nintendo in the Switch era. I really don't understand why it looks the way it does. I still adore that game though.

i played some parts of XCX using only the wii u gamepad. i mean i complained, but i still did it. that’s how low my bar is.

 

Same. In my memory though XCX looks sharper than XC2. It probably doesn't, but here we are.

I really don't like it when games are blurry. I'm not a graphics freak at all, but blurriness gets to me in like an almost physical way.

Also that's fucking weird lol It was stealth released too

As much as I liked both Xenoblade Chronicles 1 and 2, I hope their next one is closer to the spirit of X. That freedom to go wherever you want was such an experience. It felt like I was discovering places that I wasn't supposed to. I put over 100 hours into it on both times playing, but even still there were things I did not do and see.

 

I agree with that. The characters were lacking compared to the other games, but the freedom was great, as was the ranged combat. We’re in the minority I think though. I’ll take any game they decide to make though.

Quick joycon question.. Does everyone's joycons turn on just by pressing the L/R triggers? Or do you have to hit the home button to wake them first?

When I'm at the controller pairing screen, my old joycons immediately light up and start connecting when I hit the triggers, but on my new ones, I have to hit the home button and a button on my d-pad to get them to light up, and then hit the triggers to connect. They work great otherwise, it's baffling.

 

Yeah I usually hold the home button to wake the system up and then just press a bunch of buttons to sync up the controller

 

Yeahh that's true, I do need to do that when I turn the system on, but this is when I go to the "Change Grip/Order" screen when the joycons shut off and it tells you to press L/R to reconnect.

It's weird that they behave differently to wake but otherwise both work great (minus the drift on the old ones lol). Both are up to date too. I'll have to look into contacting Nintendo to talk about possible warranty coverage when they start opening that up again.

 

Can you use one Nintendo account for two profiles on the same switch without paying for the family plan? Like say I wanted to do another playthrough on Sword/Shield without having to delete my first one, and still have access to the online features?

I was able to sign-on but decided not to click link just in case it would mess something up lol.
