Officially over 60k deaths in the US :tear:

Projections suggesting even the 1st wave will stop at 75k seem so wildly out of place with how slowly the death counts have been going down in other parts of the world

Sounds like I'm going back to work the week of May 11th, unless something changes (which, has been a possibility every single moment of every single day of this thing, lol).

It's just two days a week, on Wednesdays & Fridays, in production at a small screen printing shop. Masks are gonna be provided. So, I don't really feel scared to go back or anything. Especially w/ how well contained my county has been & some of the things I've done over the past month & a half. And, the timing is good in regards to my other job's pay timeline. But, the attitude my bosses have had towards Gov. Wolf & the whole lockdown still really sours me on the idea of going back. Especially since, if something goes down, there's no way I get paid w/out going in once they open back up (as opposed to what I could get from unemployment if they couldn't open yet).

    Oh well.

I keep getting furloughed back a week at a time at this point. I was initially on a two week furlough...which is now on week three and just found out it will get extended to a fourth. I should be back after that according to my boss but then depending on when our plants start actually making things it might be on a week off/week on basis until we get some decent amount of output. Will be WFH for a pretty extended period according to him as well.

Should be getting my UIA/PUA tomrrow, but for some reason it got lowered by little over a hundred on each week but I think that is because my company screwed up our last payroll/we got a % reduction in our salaries that I forgot about. Not even worth the time to try and get a hold of UI office to see exactly what happened because the wait times are still crazy. Just thankful I am actually seeing money out of them unlike people still..

Question: Wouldn't it be more philosophically honest to say "Yeah, it's possible Biden sexually assaulted someone, but I still will vote for him because he's most likely to improve the material conditions of marginilized people" than to just pretend he didn't do it?

absolutely. but the current political environment doesn't reward philosophical honesty.

They probably don’t think it sounds great to talk about protecting marginalized people in the same breath as saying they’re voting for a rapist

It should be pretty easy to say some variation of "Joe Biden is the person the voters have chosen. That said, I believe Tara Reade and feel that Biden should step aside and allow the nomination to go to someone else. Should he not do so, I will do every I can to make sure Donald Trump does not serve a second term."

I personally don't think that's a strong enough statement but it's way better than what they'recurrently saying. It's just craven enough to be a hedge while also at least doing the bare minimum to not be a shameless rape apologist
