To add some positivity to the thread, still love the Uzi album(s), enjoyed Thundercat, liked what I heard from the Westside Gunn album but only heard a couple songs and wasn’t familiar with him before

I don't understand why artists feel the need to publicly pit themselves against other artists. Especially if you're French Montana, like is there any way that doesn't end up with you embarrassing yourself? I just don't get it lol

Couldn’t tell you a single song of his. Bit like Big Sean or Logic or Tyga. I know they exist, but I have no desire to ever listen to a single thing they do.

I've thought that about a lot of rappers over the course of my life but I'm not quite sure if that is ever actually true. There's always a reason that specific rapper made that song.

Fat Joe was part of the RnB-ification of rap in the early noughties (THANKS ASHANTI) that really turned me off hip hop for a while. Then the shitty Scott Storch era cam in and that what switched me onto Def Jux, Rhymesayers, Anticon etc.

Lean back is... eh. The only good Storch beat is Break Your Neck.

That the thing with him, though. You can only like one song. If you only listen to one of his songs, you don't have to deal with the fact he was a one trick pony that made really cheap sounding beats. He should have stuck to playing keyboard with The Roots.

This French Montana conversation is admittedly hilarious. He’s made a few hits, sure, but they all kinda become annoying after you listen to them a few times. Whoever said hes ruined all his biggest songs with his own verses, that shit cracked me up
