Agreed. Although I would definitely be down for an Obi-Wan movie with Ewan McGregor. Still, I'm hoping we eventually get a completely original character. I guess you can't blame them for sticking to familiar characters/stories for these first few films.

unless they're making them all in relative succession, i don't understand how you do a Han Solo trilogy. I think there's enough stories in a 5-6 year period before A New Hope to do it. It's just keeping Ehrenreich looking like a "young" Han. I don't want to see Ehrenreich's Han post Jedi, and there's really no other stories to tell between movies.

finished Life Debt yesterday and loved it. I heard there was some sort of reveal, but there really isn't. But there's a lot that makes you think, and a lot of tidbits that seem like they might tie in and effect TFA. The scene at the end with Han and Chewie made me tear up. Can't wait for empires end

Seems like the battle of Jakku will play a central role in the next book. And with Thrawn potentially still around, maybe he could pop up.

That would be cool. I thought the character that turned out to be rax was thrawn in the first book. I'm not sure though. It will be interesting to see how they tell thrawns story. I'm pretty interested in what's going on at jakku

That was the initial theory for some after the first book. It was vague and just referred to a great leader in the outer regions or some such. But now that we have been introduced to Thrawn by name in Rebels, I find it highly unlikely.

Just because Thrawn is in Rebels doesn't mean he can't be alive in the Force Awakens era does it? What's the life span of a Chiss? In the old EU, Thrawn was already in action during the Clone Wars for Outbound Flight, and in his prime years and years later during the Thrawn trilogy.

Someone I listen to recently said he must die in Rebels because he wasn't in TFA or any other canon material yet. I disagree with that. It may just mean that our Rebel crew eventually defeats him in a sound way and he is sent to the outtsr regions to return at a later date.

Personally I don't think he is around during TFA, but not because something happens in Rebels. I predict we will get something that has Thrawn interacting with Luke/Leia/Han.

Been playing through the Old Republic games lately. I finished both Knights of the Old Republic games. I thought Sith Lords was better than the first one. Had much better writing and more interesting role-playing opportunities.

Now playing through The Jedi Knight and Imperial Agent storylines in The Old Republic. I heard they were the best two story-lines in the game, so I chose them first. I'm enjoying both so far.

I highly doubt thrawns is around during tfa. I think they could work a story where he comes back after Jedi, but with the events of aftermath so far it seems unlikely he'd have much military power since after jakku the empire supposedly was decimated.

I'm pretty certain we haven't seen the fullest extent of the First Order, so it's possible Thrawn survives and is still a part of that.

What have you read so far?

Lost Stars, Aftermath, and Dark Disciple. I have Life Debt (ebook) and Battlefront: Twilight Company (actual book), so I'm guessing one of those will be next.

    Keep on the sunny side.

I'm about 2/3 through Lost Stars. I recently bought Bloodline, so that'll likely be next. I've also been sprinkling in some of the comics which have all been entertaining.

That's likely what I'll do. I've heard better things about it than the first one, which I thought was fine.

I was just thinking about something, not sure if it's been discussed before. But if Rey found Luke's lightsaber, why was it blue and not green? Luke lost Obi's blue one, then crafted a green one in Jedi.

She found the one Luke used in Empire, which was also Annikan's. It was never Obi-Wan's, he just held onto it after he defeated Annikan in Revenge of the Sith.
