If/when music venues open this year, will you feel comfortable enough to attend shows? Tour

There's been some discussion about this in the Tour Prediction thread, but I figure it would be interesting to make a separate thread asking this question. Tours are being rescheduled for as early as June, so I am wondering how people are going to handle going back to shows if venues open, the cases are potentially more mitigated, but there is no vaccine and the risk of contracting/spreading the virus is still there. (Obviously if there are still outbreaks, venues won't be open) How are you personally going about this with shows you already have tickets for or shows in the coming months?

I’m not comfortable going back to shows until there’s a treatment, or if we get the curve down. But I doubt the latter will happen since many areas aren’t taking this as seriously as they should. So at this point, I don’t doubt that it’ll be until next year that we see shows again

Yeah. The mayor of LA has said pretty much no sporting events until next year. I'll be surpised if there's any shows this year

Personally, yes. But I understand and respect that many are under different circumstances and will not feel this way.

I will attend as soon as shows come back. I'm in my mid 20s and come in no contact with anyone under 30. So I'm not really worried to much.

Feel like I'd have to play it by ear. Tentatively yes I would, partly because I feel attendance to shows will be down significantly once concerts do start back up which would create more room and slightly less risk for those that go. But really I don't think anythings going to happen until we get a vaccine unfortunately. With a vaccine though I would 100 percent feel safe going.

I think we have to accept the reality that shows will not be coming back this year. I think the best case scenario is by the Fall we might see states allowing gatherings of under 500, which could allow smaller venues to open up.
Even still, I'm auto immune compromised, so I won't be going to anything until we get that vaccine.

Yeah theres a local festival I wanted to go to in September and they're still announcing artists like there's no way it'll be cancelled but last year they had 12,000 people so yeah no way it's happening

I am also hopeful for summer but doubt it'll happen. Whenever shows return I'll be there

Yeah my girlfriend’s brother is also autoimmune compromised, which is why I have to be extra careful. That’s why I’d much prefer having the medicine for it first

Senior citizens are more susceptible to contracting the virus. He may have meant to say over 30?

it actually doesn't seem to crazy from a business stand point. People want so badly to believe it'll happen, so they pay for it, then you postpone it and keep their money and put the show on like next april lol

Yeah sorry about that. But I only come into contact with young and healthy people for the most part in my day to day life. So I'm not really worried. Going to a show a week probably does more damage to my body in the long run then this virus will

And then those young people will come in contact with older people. Selfish.

Um, this is some ignorant shit.

Great, you don't come in contact with older people. First of all, the young aren't immune to COVID. My best friend is a doctor in the the pediatric ICU and has had dozens and dozens of children come in sick with it. He even passed it on to his 1 year old daughter, who thankfully is doing much better now. And he had an 18 year old die on him from Covid complications two weeks ago.

Second, you not directly coming into contact with older people makes no difference. You go out, put your hands on a banister, on a doorknob, on a chair, and then 30 minutes later an older person comes and sits in that same seat, turns that same doorknob, leans on that same banister. Boom, you just infected them.

Also I'm not old or young, I'm 32. By your logic I should be fine? Well I have myasthenia gravis, and getting covid will probably fuck up my ability to breath and kill me. But I look young and healthy, so you're fine coming into contact with me?

God, humanity is going to be the cause of it's own extinction.

To be fair company's like Walmart and Amazon are packing 100 to 300 employees in to there warehouses. The same as like a small show. If that can happen. I feel safe going to small shows when they return. Maybe arenas. But I don't really have a fear towards small show. I also mostly only see elderly people out and about though. ( I live in florida though). Just like the youth with out a care in the world. They don't really seem really bothered by the virus and there the most vulnerable

    Sending my love

I had a yucky illness at the beginning of February that I'm 80% certain was COVID-19. At the time, I thought it was the strangest combination of symptoms and in a very unusual order, and it took me out for over two weeks plus almost another two weeks of still not being at 100%. Hoping I can get an antibody test once they're widely available, but since it's possible I've already had it and recovered, I have no qualms about traveling and/or going to shows as soon as it is possible.
