We did home communion yesterday over Zoom. But we had to supply our own elements.

My church hardly even acknowledged the fact that it was Easter, no special Easter sermon or songs or anything. It was really bizarre and alarming, makes me feel like I probably need to look a new church tbh :/

When my church did Facebook live communion on Thursday, I realized too late that I forgot to buy stuff, so I just used a little piece of spinach wrap for the body & the decaf coffee I already had as the blood, lol.

There was acknowledgement of Easter during the morning stream, particularly as the focus of the sermon, but we've also been saying that, whenever we finally get to properly meet back together again, we're gonna treat whatever Sunday that is as our full on Resurrection Sunday that we would've had on Easter. I already know it's gonna be so hype, lol, especially if it takes the longer end of estimates to get there.

Man, if Write This Down were like 3 years earlier I think they would have been huge. Such a shame they never seemed to go anywhere, both albums were gems and I return to them quite often.

I also cannot believe Far-Less didn't get bigger.

    I do not exist.

Switchfoot featuring Jenn Johnson (from Bethel Music) was unexpected in my inbox this morning:

Cold Hard Want might be my fav, too? Dunno, haven’t listened to them in quite a long time, tbh. The End is Not the End is probably pretty close, could be higher out of nostalgia. And, Suburba’s also solid; really good 3-album stretch there.

I think Cold Hard Want is my favorite. Comfort Trap is my jam.

The End Is Not the End feels like their definitive album though. It’s so good all the way through.

Remember coming across “In the Valley of the Dying Sun” at just the right time when it comes to my tastes & loving it so much. Don’t remember if it was because of AbsolutePunk or Jesus Freak Hideout, or heck, maybe even MySpace? lol.

You know what I just remembered being a thing?

    HM Magazine.

Remember they’d have one interview w/ a secular artist per issue, & they’d always include what felt like a surprise question about Jesus in each one, lol. Would have some occasionally good responses, like when the late Chester Bennington talked about how faith was a part of his battle against addiction, but it still always felt like a sudden turn in the interview. Occasionally someone would be all like, “yeah, not gonna comment on that,” lol. Wonder what’d go through their minds, like if they were warned at all going in.

The End Is Not The End is their masterpiece. Cold Hard Want is a close second though.

The three-song run of “In the Valley of the Dying Sun,” “Code Name: Raven,” and “By Your Side” is one of the best on any album.

Wow I echo all of your thoughts haha. Comfort Trap is a BEAST of a song.

The End Is Not the End is pound for pound their most consistent tho

I always thought Comfort Trap would do well on alternative radio. But alas...

Ooh, forgot how good "Touch This Light" is. What a jam.

This is now the House of Heroes thread. Don't try to bump an old thread; I won't post in it. This is the thread.

    "Remember the Empire" rules, too.

For some reason I always thought Cold Hard Want wasn’t so well liked but it’s always been my favorite from them after TEINTH. The CHW b-side “Dead” is also a killer track.
