Astral Chain rules. It’s one of those games that is easy to get good at, but the challenge is in being *amazing* at it

 

My Switch full on broke last week, according to the repair guy the main circuit board completely broke for whatever reason. Luckily I found a reasonably priced replacement but that isn’t coming for another week, and in the mean time I’ve busted out the N64.

Mario 64 is funny in that some things really hold up, like Mario’s movement mechanics are very smooth. But then there are things like the camera and some of the graphics that are absolutely comical

 

Donkey Konga! God I loved that game. My parents, did not

 

Girlfriend and I wanted some stuff to play together so we got Unravel 2 at 75% off and Sonic Team Racing and Blazing Chrome at 50% off, having a lot of fun

I think DK Tropical Freeze is the most I've ever angrily cursed at a video game

 

I still have Donkey konga 1+ 2 and jungle beat, and two bongo controllers lol

I liked DKCTF, it was just hard and aggravating at times. I still think DKC 1 & 2 are the best in the series. Returns was good as well. 3 was eh

 

finally replaying XC2 so I can finish it this time. forgot how great the chapter endings are. that first one is just pure action.

does the DLC go on sale often? thinking whether i should buy now or wait a while

I love the rhythm mode. It's designed to kill you to Splatoon music.

 

Yeah I figured. It's wild it can't be bought anywhere. They are going for 200-300 dollars on ebay

 

Don't be swindled by people selling just the ring telling you to buy the game digitally because the game isn't available digital outside of Japan.

 

Anyone know if there's any risk with third party joycon controller chargers, or is it really just Switch docks to worry about?

I have a couple 8bitdo controllers that I've used for over half a year now, they don't mess with the system at all and I always charge them through the dock

Just not sure if I should worry about them frying the joycons. Just ordered a second set of joycons and figured itd be convenient to charge all 4 at once

 

My friend uses the power a charging dock and that works great, and although it's technically third party nintendo is willing to publish it so that would definitely be a safest option

 

DKCTF was insanely challenging if I remember correctly. Like, I would act embarrassingly childish and get teary eyed angry over it. Especially those bonus levels that you unlock. I had the game on Wii U and have been wanting to pick it up on the Switch, but I don't wanna pay more than $20 for it since I purchased it on Wii U already. Fuck you Nintendo! Make your older games cheaper already!

Also, I wish they'd put DKC 1 & 2 on the SNES app already. I agree that the 3rd one is kinda not great. Just ok. Probably good compared to other games outside of the DKC series, but just feels weak compared to DKC 1&2.

 

DKCTF is still to this day arguably the best 2D platformer I’ve ever played.
