I honestly kinda low key think it's shocking how the club's aren't capable of paying their staff. I saw a tweet today saying something along the lines of Levy won't pay his staff but will spend £58 million of Ndombele, and it's kinda true. Everyone loves to talk about the money in the league most of the time. Convenient they've shut up when it's on about paying employees wages.

 

It’s fucked what they’re doing and I’m absolutely pissed at Levy for this.

 

I know you guys are probably talking about European leagues, but does anyone else have a USL team in their city?

Ya'll gotta check out the New Mexico United kits if you haven't. The team has really fostered a sense of community within NM.

If you all can’t tell, this whole situation has made me incredibly pissed off at not just the UK as a whole but also how football is run as a business and the culture it breeds.

I loved our adidas home kit last year and our Meow Wolf Limited one as well. I own both and the baseball jersey. The marketing team for them is top notch. It’s seriously such a sense of pride to the locals. We also have a minor league baseball team called the isotopes (named after The Simpson’s) and the soccer games routinely outsell the baseball games in the same stadium. Average 12/13k fans a game.

 

We played an exhibition match vs. Cardiff City last summer and earned a draw. Such a great team and fan base.

 

Spurs have managed to bury the news that Newcastle and Norwich are doing the same thing too. I don't understand how the players aren't appalled with that. A first team player could take a pay cut for one week and probably pay 6 months of wages for 2-3 staff members.

 

Surely these teams make enough money outside of game day revenue to pay their fucking employees. It’s the richest league on earth ffs.

 

FWIW I’ve no idea what United are doing because I haven’t really been following football since the whole thing started. But it would be absofuckinglutely disgraceful if a team as rich as us isn’t paying employees.

Yeah I think everything will just be cancelled. Not sure if this year or last years standings will count but we'll see.

Given that there's no guarantee that we (or anyone else) can start the next season on time, cancelling this season at this point seems a bit strange to me. I'd almost prefer them to sacrifice the next season so that this one can be finished. Not likely now anyway. Everything beneath League 2 is already gone (I think) and I don't know if it will be long before the Football League follow suit.

I just finalized my plans for this.

If we can start games by mid-August across Europe all competitions start back up with transfers open through the end of that month. UEFA would also strongly suggest that contracts ending in June get a second look without an increase in price on the club.

Moving forward the season follows the calendar year leading up to the 2022 WC.

In 2023 you have the domestic cup(s) take place ending in June of that year. Everything goes back to normal that August. 2023 could be the year clubs make money back by travelling to foreign countries for friendlies.

 

I'm pretty sure the match finished at dead-on 90 minutes, with no stoppage time. You may as well close the page at that point.

 

I kind of think after this everyone will want a fresh start. I think only particular fans with something to gain will actually be up for carrying on with last season.
