Nothing Compares is fantastic and could have easily fit on the album, rest I could take or leave but I'm glad we have them

 

Hardest to Love might be my song of the year so far.
Beautiful pop song.

 

pretty interesting, Ricky Reed posted on IG about Nothing Compares, he produced the track and wrote that he mixed it during quarantine. In other words, it's entirely possible these 3 songs weren't even done by the time the album came out.

 

Oh yeah I thought the line "I've tried my best not to get high again, but I've been stuck inside this place for days on end" sounded like it was written this week, and if i recall when he played these on IG live there was some dummy melodies in there with no lyrics in spots so they must have just banged these out. Rad

 

Abel done a livestream on IG on Thursday/Friday playing these 3 + 2 others and was reading the comments and during one of the 2 others, said "I can't drop it, I'm still working on it" so this matches up. The other two, particularly one of them, sounded just as good. The 3 released all sounded more finished with lyrics and these are the one's that have followed but there still could be 2 others to come...

Can't get over how good Abel sings baby boo in Missing You.

 

As a complete project I do consider "After Hours" to be some of his finest works. I loved the fact that he has 14 song with no features, he was an executive producer for some of the tracks as well. Deluxe songs were OK, tome, could've been better. I wrote an album review for After Hours, you can read it and share what you think.

 

Still not crazy about this album. Some stuff I really love and some stuff that bores me.

True, but I don't hate anything before that, so I'm happy

 

The first three songs are some of the best for me, especially Hardest to Love.

Not a song I expected a video for but I'm stoked. I love the aesthetic of this era so much that I want one for every song lol

The variety articles with him are very very good. He's amazing.

 

I feel like he's done more press than ever for this album, I barely even knew what his speaking voice sounded like before Uncut Gems and I've been a fan for like 7 years lol

Literally the definition of clickbait, misrepresents what he said so hard

 

we talked about it in another thread, R&B I think, about how terribly clickbaity and sensationalized this whole thing was. Legitimately no drama actually happened.

 

I’ve heard his singles on the radio over the years, but this is my first full album listen from him. I’m really digging it. Snowchild is my current favorite track.
