Change is so dope

 

Change is the shit.

 

Change is in my lower tier of song on White Pony, but it still fucking rules. Just goes to show how exceptional that album is.

 

Doing a full discog run while I work today

 

"Elite" is the hardest song ever written, don't @ me!!

Also gonna say I prefer "Digital Bath" to "Change"

 

Digital Bath is their best song

 

It’s certainly not harder than When Girls Telephone Boys

 

7 Words is one of their heaviest for sure.

 

And “Change” has probably my favorite drums from any Deftones song.

 

Abe is the fucking man

 

He’s the driving force in the band, imo. They’d still be good with a normal drummer but he’s the glue.

 

Every member of this band has been essential to the band’s sound. They sound different with Serg in the mix but still like the same band, just distinct eras. I can’t wait to hear Terry Date’s production on a Deftones record again, especially with this lineup.

 

Don’t forget Frank. The sounds he creates pair so well with the songs, and sound so organic. He’s truly the unsung hero of the band at times.

Holy hell @ that review

 

Is that a joke where someone tried way too hard? I was not reading p4k back then so have no idea what the general vibe was.

 

p4k has loads of those for rock and metal bands. They gave Bleed American 3.5.

Although the best one was 1.9 for Lateralus.

 

A ton of their reviews were like that back in the early-to-mid 2000's. Absolutely drenched in snark.

 

This listen of Diamond Eyes has 100% solidified it as my favorite. It's a little more straightforward than most of their records, but I actually think that plays to its advantage. I think it's their best sounding record, and It's definitely their most balanced when it comes to ultra-heavy riffs and massive choruses. Not a moment of filler imho. I also think it's their most accessible/the one I would play for someone else to introduce them to the band

I was listening to Diamond Eyes just last night and thinking it might actually beat out Gore and take my top spot. It's crazy how they put that album out when I was 15 and I love it so much more now, it's like clicked all over again. Most albums are way more immediate for me than that but Deftones grows on me and apparently doesn't stop.

 

I’m assuming no one, but you just slightly more.
