Flash's costume is likely going to look like a more futuristic version of this, based on what we saw. Snyder has said it will definitely look more futuristic.

  2. Here's a transcript I saw somewhere online. Seems about right.

"Bruce! Listen to me now! It's Lois! Lois Lane! She's the key! Am I too soon?! *Screams* I'm too soon! You were right about him! You've always been right about him! Fear him! Find us Bruce! You have to find us!"

I'm guessing we're supposed to think "him" is Superman but it's really someone else

I took the "him" as Superman. Not sure who else it would be.

    It's about Donald Trump.

  6. I'm assuming Superman, given the Knightmare that precedes that part. Maybe Lex?

The "I'm too early" is what really makes me think it's someone else. If It was Superman why would it matter when Barry got to Bruce? If it was Superman, Barry would be right on time.

That was my thought as well. It being right after the Knightmare sequence is supposed to make us think it is about Superman, but that's not what he meant.

I am sure The Flash's thought process was "I only have a few seconds to convey my message to Bruce, I need to be as vague as possible and make sure he has no idea what I am talking about. Ready...annnnnnnnnnd...GO!"

  12. Should see the mental hoops he jumps through to not communicate on the CW. I think it's a Barry thing. :-)

    Kevin Smith had some thoughts.

“It’s been 72 hours since I’ve seen it and I don’t know what the moral of the Batman v Superman movie is other than, maybe, maybe, if you stretch it real thin, ‘Hey kids, don’t judge a book by its cover.’ Honestly, what was the moral of that story? Everyone was shitty to everybody and in the end Batman was like, ‘I failed him in life.’ It’s like, f–k yeah, you did! You tried to end his life!”

"Remember before when we were talking about Flash, and that is has heart, humor, and spectacle? [Batman v Superman], I felt like, didn’t really have a heart. It was certainly f*cking humorless. There was nothing funny going on in that world whatsoever, but it had lots of spectacle. Like you can’t take that away from [Zack] Snyder. Boy, he knows how to compose a frame and how to setup a shot. Beautiful visual stylist. But you need more than just pictures. You need the characterization and these characters seemed off character, particularly Superman."

Oh I am a huge fan of the show (though I am a few episodes behind), as much as I have always enjoyed Ezra Miller in every thing I have seen him in Gustin will always be The Flash to me.

  15. I've never been of the mindset that only one actor or person can be a character (I grew up knowing multiple Bonds and have seen so many different takes on different characters over the years), so I'm excited about having both and seeing him on the big screen in whatever way they decide to take it.

  16. I know it makes me an ass, but even when I agree with him, the whole time reading this I was thinking "yeah, but you know what else is humorless? Your last like 5 movies. And those were supposed to be comedies."

Hahaha. Red State was the funniest film he's ever released and I'm pretty sure it is supposed to just be political satire.

I'm still excited to see what his Flash episode brings to the table. I think he said he cried filming it. Dude cries a lot. lol

  18. Yeah, me too (about Flash), he really likes comic books, which is awesome. But I never liked his run on anything I've read from him. He's a certain kind of nerd's hero, but for some reason he just never was that for me. I liked "Clerks" and "Mallrats" and "Dogma" back in the day, but I tried to watch one of them a few months back and was pretty appalled that a younger me liked it as much as I did (like I want to ask him what the moral of Chasing Amy is now, because it's pretty much a really bad one from what I remember). I tried to give his podcast a listen as well and followed him on Twitter — I had to abandon both pretty quickly.

But he is right about the moral lack of joy, heart, and feeling.

I am not particularly of that mindset either, and I am ultimately glad that they are keeping their movie and television universes separate. But I don't know if I remember a time when two actors portrays a live action representation of the same character at the same time.

Who knows, I believe Lord & Miller are directing The Flash movie, so I am sure it will be good.

Did you read his Batman books? The Widening Gyre and Cacophony were both really really good, imo. Absolutely loved the ending to the second book. I'm actually looking forward to a sequel if it ever happens. Might pick up the autographed additions when I go home this weekend.

  23. In defense of Superman's characterization. Keep in mind this piece doesn't really address the movie's issues, but I agree with it for the most part. Also, maybe it's just me, but I thought the movie had plenty of humor as a nice contrast to it's overall darker tone.

Zack Snyder Loves Superman, And 'Batman V Superman' Proves It

To me, the whole film was about Superman's characterization, his idealism and how it doesn't fit in this cynical world, represented by pretty much everyone, but especially Batman. Granted, my view of his character is largely informed by Man of Steel and his actions in BvS don't always seem to align with his characterization, but the ideas are there in BvS. There was a clear arc, I thought.
