Spoke to both my parents this morning. They were both decades-long smokers up until a few years ago so obviously the danger is high for them if they get it. They seem to both be taking it seriously, thankfully. Was really hoping I wasn't going to have to have The Talk with them about how bad this is.

That's good I'm glad they're taking it seriously. I had to have a talk with my mom yesterday, she smoked for a long time too and is in the vulnerable age group but is still acting like she would be fine if she got it. She kept saying it's like the flu and this is all an overreaction...

 

Oh lol, I haaaaaaave. We’ve watched a ton of insane stuff together. But there are still some things like gore that she doesn’t do well or just some truly out there weirdness that I wouldn’t want to subject her to without knowing what it is myself. Or if I want to watch some absolutely awful movie because I’m in a weird mood and want to yell at the TV, that’s not something I want company for. Lol.

yeah glad my parents are finally taking it seriously too, my mom heard about a seemingly healthy 50 year old who has it who's in the ICU and I was good and didn't say "could have told you that shit from Italy"

How fun is animal crossing

 

My parents are both relatively young (I'll be 30 in October, my parents are 57 and 53) so they're under 60 at least but yeah the smoking thing is a huge risk factor for them. It's wild how much that generation smoked over the years.

But yeah hopefully after that talk your mom is taking it more seriously. I really personally dislike very much the times in my life where I've been the only one acting like a mature adult in my relationship with my parents up to this point so I was glad this wasn't one of those times lol

 

Also I'm going to get into a fight with a trump supporter on fb I think. I feel it coming

 

I smoke cigarettes on occasion and feel like this is a good time to curtail all that

but maybe the damage is already done. idk
