This concerns me. Major Paper Mario: Sticker Star vibes here. Nintendo utterly failed to provide a reason to engage with the battle system in that game since they removed leveling up through combat, so hopefully this game can give us a reason to not simply run through the environments avoiding enemies.

 

as a massive fan of Dark Souls/Bloodborne/Sekiro, should I buy Nioh 2? Combat looks fun, but the item management looks like a slog.

I need something to last me till RE3

 

I’d say so, it’s a fun game in that vein with better combat imo

 

may as well get Nioh 1 first, it's cheaper and also an incredible game

Sorry, but this is just finally so under my skin. This local place in Florida CONSTANTLY breaks release dare, sometimes weeks early and it just pisses me off so much. Street dates exist for a reason, the developers and publishers have a strict procedure for things to ensure their products get released at a specific time. I know a lot of this will come off as "but I won't get to play it and they will wahhhhh", but it's more than that. It just irks me that they think they're better/above everyone else and that they are allowed to do things their own way.

There's a place in Miami that does this and will sell the games for more as well, at least 10 extra dollars.

 

I will say I have bought two games before the street date. both were about 48 hours before and the place never advertises it. more of if you know, you know kinda place. it's pretty much invisible now that I think about it.
