Omg I feel like I'm crazy

I'm venting about politics and why I'm disenchanted with Joe Biden. I talked about not trusting some of his voting record and how I want someone with conviction who holds similar beliefs to mine and will stick with it. Then this guy argues that politicians should be flexible and vote for what we want blah, blah, blah and calls me naive and is like "well what if we change our minds? Shouldn't politicians vote to reflect that?" And I'm like who's we?? People aren't a monolith. Who is this we?? And then he says I'm being dense. Then he goes on to say he voted for Bernie because he "sticks with his guns" and I was like WTF I WAS LITERALLY JUST SAYING THAT AND YOU MANSPLAINED POLITICS TO ME AND THEN JUST SAID THE SAME THING I DID.

Lol I have a strange relationship with such things. Since stumbling awkwardly into a fulfilling relationship, I’ve all but entirely denounced saucy online material in favour of just expressing that stuff with my other half. Knowing I’m going to be living with her in a week, I don’t want to be sat there resenting her cos I wanna crank one out when sweet lovin’ ain’t on the cards. Or having to be sneaky when she’s not around or something. Porn in general scares me, so that’s why I’m not down with the trendy folk on the latest sexy sites I guess. It’s like over time I’ve weened myself off it in preparation for living with someone.

I really hope this makes sense and isn’t coming across half as weird as I reckon it’ll be interpreted. I’m fucking exhausted.

 

Ugh and then I talked about how I try not to be apathetic with politics and hope for change. He says he's not rly knowledgeable about it so he doesn't do anything to change it. I say well if more people tried to become informed and change it, maybe we'd be in a better spot. And then he's like "well why don't you look at yourself then?" Like wut?? I vote in every election. I donate to campaigns and causes I support. When I lived in cities where they took place, I joined protests. Not saying I couldn't do more but like back off, buddy. Nnnnnnn

 

Nah man I get that. And I’m happy for you I think that’s probably for the best. I guess I’m just still surprised that no one has even heard of it bc I thought it was spoken of casually enough but I guess not! Also cultural differences etc etc
