they did this on purpose to announce its a better console and more powerful. or its gonna be the exact opposite. smart on their part non the less

 

abilities tend to be spammy canned animation and or one hit kills - and that is not good multiplayer design to me - it depends on the game but I’ve never played a good one

Yeah think it’s just an attempt to be the most relevant and stick in folk’s minds. Though it’s a gamble. The price is what I’m concerned with.

 

i think both will be $499 but who knows. we wont know the ps5 price till the series x comes out with their price unless they announce it tomorrow

 

All I know is PlayStation has the games I like. So that’s the way I’ll sway regardless. I haven’t been truly interested in a Microsoft exclusive in many, many years now. And the one that I was (Crackdown) flopped harder than I thought possible. Conversely a lot of folk ain’t interested in story-driven single player games, so will naturally flock the other direction.

 

Took me only like a half hour to get the hang of Origins. Digging it so far.

 

Would be shocked if either the PS5 or the Series X retail for less than $500. Would be a welcome shock, but it would be shocking nonetheless. I think the days of $400 consoles are sadly over.

 

Hmm. Wonder if one of them will try to really undercut the other or if they’ll be pretty much on par. These things are sold at a loss at first anyway, I’m told.

Might not show the actual box tomorrow, based on that tweet. Seems like it's gonna be specs-talk only. Not getting my hopes up for seeing the box or any new games or whatever.

Weird thing about this, though, is we've already heard so much about the PS5 on that front. I wonder if maybe Sony tweaked the specs somehow since Microsoft revealed the specs for Series X? Because originally PS5 was going to be less powerful than Series X. Perhaps that isn't the case anymore? Seems unrealistic that they'd be able to change things like that on such short notice though, given everything that's going on with the virus. Guess we'll find out tomorrow.

 

the cpus and gpus are all third party components so why couldn’t they easily change up the specs

it’s peanuts for intel, amd, and nvidia to provide those services - I mean their general production cycles for their own shit is every six months

 

Because it's mid-March and they need to have consoles ready by November and the virus is already causing enough problems with component supply and console production? To make a last minute change requiring a whole different set of components at this stage might not be feasible. I don't know enough about this stuff to know whether that matters but it seems like it probably would. I'm just speculating here anyway.

 

Yeah obviously it’s all just speculation by us peons.

I mean conceivably the “last minute change” would’ve been made earlier than we, the public, know - like even before the series x specs were made public.

ps and xb teams totally get insider info on each other over the course of their development. iirc the one x changed specs after the ps4 pro specs went public.
