Do stores get new games a week in advance? Would Nintendo be able to get physical games into stores early in such short notice?

I totally want them to release it early in the eShop tho

My understanding is that it is pretty much standard that stores get media at least a week in advance and they just hold it until the release date. I can’t remember all the times I’ve gone into a store and seen a movie or a game on a shelf that I knew didn’t come out for a week or two, and I would try to buy it, only for the message on the register to alert the worker that they aren’t allowed to sell it till a future date.

Ah ok that definitely makes sense to prevent delays!

That's wild that stores would even shelve them early like that, what a weird move lol can't say I've ever seen that happen.

I’ve never played Animal Crossing before but I have it pre-ordered and I’m excited. Stardew is probably the closest thing to it I’ve played before and I loved that so hopefully I’ll love AC.

Thinking I have to go digital with AC this time. Virus aside, I need that accessibility for this game.

I will miss having the physical case, though.

For the most part, I'm really enjoying Divinity II -- combat is a lot of fun and I enjoy just how customizable it is. But I do find there is a lot of "walking around the map looking for an encounter that is actually the right level for you" which can get a bit frustrating. I do like it more than the "everything levels up with you so you actually don't get to feel like you're making any progress" shit a lot of games throw at you. Probably all it needs is just a "recommended level" listed on all the quests so I know whats reasonable to go after.
