Interesting thread that I only understand parts of

but the parts I did understand did 1. Make me terrified that this is worse than we understand right now, but 2. Hopeful that there seems to be some treatments that are responding well.

I’ve uhhh been eating way too much sugar lately.

I have a friend calling Inslee a nut job because of this, saying it will start a domino effect and inject fear into other states and will cause them to do the same thing.

Has any political official discussed how they're going to manage people's finances in a society without working for a while?

Yep, my fiance and I are already thinking of people we might have to uninvite to our wedding. If we still get to have it. We're meeting with our planner tomorrow but I don't have high hopes.

If Inslee gets enough blowback from this that Tim Fucking Eyman is elected our governor, I swear I will never forgive anyone who lives east of the Cascades.

The real scary thing is that Republicans are dumb enough to risk their lives to vote while people on the left are likely to be smarter about their health. I worry (totally warranted) low voter turnout is going to cost us elections across the country.

Jason you might know the logistics of this better but....would it be at all possible to create a secure online voting option? Like a state run, .gov website that allows someone to log in using a "voter ID number" or something to access a digital, click and submit ballot? Is such a thing possible and is it possible to make it at all secure?? My instinct says no but I also know nothing of technology lol

  13. I trust no version of online voting at all to be secure. None. :-p

Haha, figured as much. Seems like it'd be too easy for it to be hacked and manipulated.

I do wonder if there's a future assisitve technology out there where you can click a ballot on a computer, and a real voting booth marks down the answers on automatically. Seems like something the engineering classes at the high schools in our district could cook up (they make a lot of assertive tech every year as part of their projects, they've made some real cool shit)

Just constantly dreading the possibility my mom gets this and we get this shortage problem all over the country because as a 30 year smoker I fear them passing her over for someone younger/healthier. Sigh.

I haven't been thinking about my dad as much because I know of know lung issues he may have as he's never been a smoker and he doesn't work in a grocery store like my mom does...but he is 60+ and overweight and has high cholesterol, and works in B2B sales.

I just wish it was clearer what this meant for people who work at those place or small businesses that own them. What is the government doing to ensure they don't go broke or have to shut down their resturants because they can't afford their bills. Hopefully we get some of those answers tomorrow.

Yeah i imagine as more palces shut down, there's gonna be pressure on Congress to pass some relief bills that either 1. straight up give people money or 2. suspend payment of utilities/mortgage/loans/etc
