wrap yourself in petals for armor.

This priest apparently put the cup on the altar and said he won't be giving it out himself, but partitioners were free to drink from it if they decided. Same with mass bring cancelled, but partitioners being free to come pray together for those already sick. I wanna lose my mind when I hear this stuff because it's so dangerous, especially given the older community going to churches. They really believe they're gonna be fine. Seems like churches are finding ways around things.

So when they say all restaurants, is that just sit down places? I assume take out places can stay open?

I couldn’t find clarification for Michigan — the emergency order for half capacity bars and restaurants goes into effect on Monday — but I’d assume fast food is not likely to be included because within the service industry itself, those workers are considered second class citizens.

So I work in a restaurant and while the county has restricted no more than 250 people in one setting, they told me they’re not going to listen to that. I told them that decision is stupid and not safe for workers and guest. Meanwhile I’m here washing my hands, pens that I hand out, condiment containers, and really anything I give to guest just trying to do my part. Also I won’t get close to anyone or make contact with anyone. I wish more people gave a shit, but Florida is fucking arrogant.

Pritzker was not my first choice as governor, but I'm really relieved with his handling of this and the fact I'm living in Illinois right now, and not one of the red states where GOP officials will let their populations get wiped out by telling them all is well.

  14. People keep saying old people won't vote because they're at risk and that's good because old people like Trump but I do not believe based on the evidence I have seen with my own eyes that people actually care about their risk or let it influence their decisions at all, least of all people who like Trump

It really is insane how he and this administration can't see that being a strong leader can help electability

Are there repercussions for not following the orders?
Hey, if you need a meal or whatever, do not hesitate to hit me up. I’d offer a couch to sleep on but I’m still getting over bronchitis/possible pneumonia so I don’t want to bring you into that/vice-versa.

I appreciate you!!! Honestly the worst part is not knowing, like my job keeps changing its mind on whether or not we are staying open, so it’s been a nightmare on my mental

  20. Genius Connecticut Democrat Governor Ned Lamont who barely beat an insane man who wanted to turn 90% of the state government into private sector and his double Democratic legislature are apparently considering 4 major steps to combat coronavirus:

    1. Rolling back a recent minimum wage hike
    2. Suspending collections on state loans to small businesses
    3. Quadruple the federal money for testing (good, but it was $8m and will now be $30m, and I feel like thats still nowhere near enough)
    4. Close state parks

Not entirely sure on if there is any repercussions. To be fair, today there hasn’t been nearly that number in the building. I hope the public is going to take it seriously. I still cannot believe how many people are here for Spring Break. Go home people. Don’t come here. I get that people want to go to Daytona Beach, but it’s just not worth it. Plus this town isn’t what it used to be. It’s not what MTV sold people back in the day.

A quick reminder to anyone being forced to work right now and are in the service industry. Please wipe off pens you may be giving out that are given back to you and anything that can go to multiple people (Condiments, check presenters, caddies, etc...). Seems like no one is really thinking about those things.

the recent planet money episode was good. they interviewed a couple economists about the best course of action economically during this public health crisis. all their answers were: contain the virus, then talk about economic actions. one of them said that doing anything right now is like trying to wring your shirt dry while being caught in the rain. you need an umbrella to stop getting wet, then you get dry.

My boss just designated half our office to WFH/on-call. Can’t work from home so just on-call but a bunch of my stuff has been put on hold/killed so I might be home awhile. Feels wild, would’ve thought it’d have taken much more to get my boss on board with paying so many people to not come in.
