I mean, he seems fine. His early stuff is meh, but it was all easy stuff to get into the industry so there's no surprise there.

The only good thing about The Last of Us tv show is maybe that means Neil Druckmann will be too busy with it to make more mediocre games.

What do you all believe is the best live-action video game adaptation? Not that I think it's a mind-blowingly good film, but I still think Paul W.S. Anderson's Mortal Kombat is the most faithful/best looking/well cast film today. The Witcher series on Netflix is probably a close second but i'm also not familiar with any of those games outside of TWIII.

When I judge most video game film adaptations, I don't really care much about faithfulness. Most games are too long to be cut down into 2 hours. Television is the best medium for adapting games because of this.

The best looking adaptation is probably Silent Hill. Personally, I like most of the Resident Evil films. They're fine B movies. Need For Speed would have been pretty good if it actually committed entirely to its road trip premise.

But I guess Detective Pikachu and Sonic are the best ones.

 

I actually forgot they did a Need For Speed movie. I have yet to see it.

Personally I do not like the Silent Hill film or any of the Resident Evil films past Apocalypse. But I haven't seen either in some time.

 

The MK cast was actually pretty good tbh

Was there ever an update on the reboot for the movie? I know they managed to cast a few people and shit like that

 

Yeah it's in post-production. I actually just recently had an update video on youtube come up in my recommended since I play MK11 still quite a bit online and view combo videos on there. Good chance we'll see a trailer by spring.

 

Mortal Kombat is still the best video game movie by far

Detective Pikachu was pretty good. Sonic was fine but mostly mediocre.
