Yes, he had all the trademarks for it by ~6 months into his WWE run, but by then they didnt wan to go with it.

I like teasing it this way because it still doesnt make Matt the Exalted One. For all we know they are just signing him to job like Tye Dillinger

 

I’m sure I’ll enjoy Matt hardy more in AEW then wwe or tna but man I just kinda want anyone else as the exalted one

The McIntyre shirts are something else

 

They don't really have a big enough roster for much of an element of surprise, I always thought it was obvious because of that. I'm not saying they need a huge wwe sized roster either, just that everyone is in a tag team or has a feud already.

 

I also don't think it's out of the realm of possibility that they do actually go with a slight "swerve" on it and Matt actually be coming in to feud with the Dark Order and whoever the Exalted One is. Still feels like giving people what they want in terms of bringing Matt in and having him involved, but also lets people cheer him (which they are going to do anyway) considering the Dark Order is supposed to be a heel faction.

 

For sure. I don’t have a better solution. I just wasn’t watching wrestling during the Hardy’s prime time so I have no connection to them, but def respect how/why people love them.

 

Good point, didn’t think about the fact that Matt will get massive pop if he’s revealed to be the leader.

I could see Matt debuting on his own and someone like Brodie Lee being the exalted one

I totally forgot that we should be getting Brodie Lee sometime soon and I just got excited for that all over again.

 

I think the one rumor is that Brodie Lee would debut in two weeks since that Dynamite is taking part in his hometown (Rochester, NY) but of course that's just pure speculation.

 

I was thinking about this, and maybe I'm crazy - with both Archer debuting tonight and Brodie Lee debuting (presumably) soon, do you think one might get lost in the shuffle, since they're both tall bearded dudes with big boot based offense?

 

In WWE, yeah. I think AEW is so good on that kinda stuff it'll be okay.

 

I've always found Archer kind of boring. Brodie will have more star power too.

 

I agree with this. They've seemed to handle most things very well so far, so I have confidence that they could handle them properly. Hell just the idea of maybe booking one as a face and the other as a heel could be a start to separate them.
