These are knee jerk reactions. It’s harder for Bernie, certainly. But it was always going to be very hard, and I’m skeptical of the efficacy of Bernie being able to make in-roads with the establishment by virtue of just trying really hard the way Jason and David think he could of. The key now is to organize and go after Biden. Hard. Biden is walking off of the highlight of his campaign (unless/until Obama endorses him) over the past 4-days, but he’s still a bumbling idiot who should be in The Hague, so go at him.

That's a fair point, but if Bloomberg drops out you can bet on most of his support going to Biden, which at that point is going to put him in a position to get at least a plurality, if not likely the majority. A Warren endorsement seems like the only way to stop that momentum. I don't know, I guess I will have to think about it more if/when Bloomberg actually does drop.

Sorry, before I go to bed, just needed to say fuck you. I live in a colonized nation built on the bodies of indigenous people and my close friends who study that and have been directly influenced by their own erasure have changed my worldview and have helped me understand that a vote for a centrist is not a vote for their lives or their value. They are being negatively affected and I abstain for them as they advise me to until they have sovereignty and clean water. To say that I’m in an ivory tower because I feel like people should be able to afford the medicine they need to live is indisputably fucked.

I don’t want to watch you go through anything for four years, I want better for you in forty.

  6. If the Warren voters go to Bernie and aren’t a “not either” vote, which could be keeping the progressive vote piling up on the side. It’s not guaranteed. I wanted the coalition formed weeks ago and I hate what the late voters did tonight in a way that makes me think she could endorse Bernie and her voters go 70/30 for Bernie and Biden wins walking away.

Thanks, this is what I needed to hear. Gives me the motivation to actually try to get out there and do something. No more excuses of I’m “too busy with my own life” or “my anxiety is keeping me from talking to people” Gonna do some research tomorrow as to what I can do to help. I’m in no position in life to donate financially but I know there are other ways I can do my part. If anything tonight has pushed me to do whatever I can. We can’t fucking give up.

In light of the conversation the last two pages I feel compelled to point out once again that there’s a good chance that even a Biden nomination is going to have the most progressive agenda and platform behind it since....what, Carter? Before that?

A Biden nom would be extremely disappointing but it’s also not 1992 Bill Clinton in terms of policy goals of the party

in 40 years whoever replaces RBG when she dies a few years from now will still be on the supreme court. Thomas's replacement will likely still be there too if Trump gets reelected. so don't give me your bullshit about "better in forty years". You don't give a fuck about any of us.

My takeaway for the night A) i think it’s maybe not the best thing for the left to get its aspirations mixed up in our current system of electoral politics, and B) if we are going to do that, we should anticipate the kitchen sink be thrown at us, but also C) as far as things go Biden is not the worst person to run against, seein as he’s a bumbling idiot who can’t string three sentences together and belongs in The Hague. So fuck it, let’s be legends. And if we can’t use Bernie to win our long-term goals, we’ll find a different means to get there.

also, if you’d told me three months ago Bernie would be neck-and-neck for first coming out of Super Tuesday I’d be elated. This isn’t 2016 where every board shows Clinton ahead because the superdelegates finished the thing before it had even started. We can beat Joe Biden.

  13. Yeah Bloomberg here is worth watching

thats where the work comes in. Phone calls, phone calls, phone calls, then primaries and then mid terms. Gotta keep the pressure up

Yeah it’s not so much that tonight’s results mean Bernie lost, it’s that the momentum going forward is now Biden’s. Not sure how that changes between now and next week

Who are the best follows for the down ballot primaries that actually provide context? I see way too many “Billy Shithead wins the primary for #NC07!” And I have no idea what that means. Is it a safe D seat? Safe R? Who did William shithead beat? Etc. Not sure who the best follows are for this

Starting to settle for the idea that Biden will most likely be the nominee. I'll vote for him in the general (not the primary), I don't hate the guy, it's just disappointing as hell
