Mox is fine but I feel like there are at least a dozen guys who could do even more than Mox if they weren't stuck in WWE's booking

 

Mox isnt a top ten guy even in this company in the ring, but he is straight up leagues better than he was in WWE

This is 1000% true. Compare this match to their Asylum match and it looks like a 5* work of brilliance.

Jericho served exactly his purpose in AEW; going forward, he should exist to put people over. Cause otherwise Hager and Guevara and P&P are gonna end up like Corbin-goons always having to suck at run-ins and lose in 6-man tags to build Jericho's feuds.

to expand, he is allowed to do more with his moveset and style and that does wonders for the rest

It sounds like it was a great show. These PPV’s being on Saturdays is not good for me.

 

Its both. He's clearly better in the hardcore style, but, he did pretty damn well within strong style in Japan.

WWE was basically the worst of both worlds for him. They didnt want him working stiff, which is where his style is believable. And they took off all his edge with dumb comedy.

Probably true, though there absolutely is an element to Mox that is a better character than a lot of WWE guys. But put KO or Sami or someone with their versatility on AEW and yeah, they'd out-do Mox.

 

His NJPW matches are all good to excellent. Most recently, at New Beginning, his Death Rider/Pardigm Shift on Suzuki was so good. The whole match was fast paced and brutal, but not a hardcore one. really gonna be interesting when Lance Archer steps up.

 

Yeah no one is saying Mox is the most talented wrestler in the world but he has the perfect combo of everything to be a star and the AEW champ

something that will forever be funny to me is an interview Mox gave as Ambrose to IGN like four years ago or something where he said he hates when people work stiff

 

I haven’t caught up with NJPW stuff and I don’t doubt it’s enjoyable. For me he’s still a fairly boring wrestler bell to bell but his character work is great and his promos are so much better. I still find his style of wrestling to be fairly boring.

This is true about pretty much all the ex WWE guys.

Imagine how unexciting a Golddust vs Jack Swagger match would've been on a WWE PPV.

Makes you wonder what AEW could do with the likes of KO, Cesaro, Nak, Revival, Rusev, Murphy, Cedric, Ali...

 

His style is boring along with Cody’s style which is why their booking and story telling is so important

 

He does have that unteachable charisma that people are naturally drawn to, for sure. Similar to Jeff Hardy and Darby Allen.

 

But yeah tonight’s show just solidified that I’ll never watch NXT live again haha

 

So usually when I watch wrestling these days, even Takeover, I'll play a game during it and half pay attention. I'll pay attention to the big matches. This show tonight had me fully engaged eyes glued to the screen the whole time.

A wrestling show hasn't made me feel like I felt tonight in a long time. I've been very inconsistent watching AEW on Weds but I absolutely am going to watch every week now.

Tonight exceeded my high expectations as a show overall. I don't see how you do much better than tonight just as a PPV show in general.

 

i would totally tune into NXT over AEW if they booked a cant miss show but it'd be the exception. i love NXT but im growing to hate supporting WWE more and more year over year just in general. i know putting money in the pocket of the Khans isnt any better than a McMahon but whatever everything is evil. its harder to fully invest in NXT knowing it isnt the final destination and in a year these guys might be genuinely lost in the shuffle on Smackdown.

 

Talk about moving the goal posts. NXT has been putting on PPVs of this quality or better for 5+ years now.
