That's the type of match production we roast WWE for constantly, though. I hate when the only explanation for a spot is, "It's something cool that we want to do." Just give it more thought and make it work within the confines of your own rules, especially if you're suddenly going to enforce the rules at other moments in the match.

This is so easy to solve too. "Rick Knox has called a lot of matches from these competitors, he's smart to let the match play out"

 

what's an example of this stuff in WWE? all that comes to mind to me is the DQ in the cell and that's a whole other beast.

it's just preference. if they stuck to stricter rules id be in to that too. i just dont care. anyone could win this and it wouldnt feel cheap so the rules have done their job imo.

 

This is as good as a tag match gets for me personally

I have no idea who the legal men are but this is a blast hah

 

The Bucks matches that devolve to chaos are the best. Their Lucha Bros matches would go like 10 minutes without a semblance of a tag and it didnt bother me one bit.

 

It’s just seems so lackluster. Like they should be flexing!

Similar things in tag matches all the time, count-outs in matches where count-outs don't typically matter, the DQ in the cell like you mentioned, refs mysteriously not counting on the outside for no apparent reason other than the wrestlers are setting up a big spot that'll take longer than 10 seconds, even though they make a big show about counting to 10 throughout the entire rest of the match, etc etc etcccccc

 

Good lord...the sequencing in this match is incredible

 

the most WWE thing they could do right now is throw Nyla/Statlander out after this. after this match is where Dustin/Hager should have gone imo

see most of this stuff doesnt bother me either. the only thing that does is stuff like count outs and dqs in matches that dont have them and that is entirely different because that means the audience doesnt even know the win condition which is a much much bigger deal to me than some extra ring time after a tag. to each their own
