Is the 13.3" Macbook Air worth buying right now?

I figured out what it was. An app I purchased two weeks ago. I have no idea why it takes apple that long to send me my bill for those things.

  3. There is a really long delay for those emails. I get them weeks after all the time.

I can't really say for sure. There's rumors of a possible 13" and 15" Macbook supposedly thinner than the MacBook Air and coming out maybe even around WWDC in June. So I'd be tempted to hold off and wait. I've been eyeing the 12" Macbook but I've been waiting to see what the refresh includes this year.

That's why I freak out. I think my account was compromised.

It's so hard to resist that $899 price tag. Literally been debating if for the last few days. It'd really be a secondary machine to my work laptop. Probably primarily for personal use and not anything work related really.

Honestly I'm thinking if I ever go the laptop route to have I'd go with an air. As cool as it was when I got it I rarely go on my iPad anymore and I switched over to a desktop since I rarely was mobile with my computer anymore and wanted a bigger screen.

For what I'd be using it for, I can't justify another $400 to get the new 12". Seems like a steep price to me.

  9. I wish so much that I could use the new Macbook as my daily machine. It's so lightweight and wonderful, yet I'm probably forever tied to the Pro for process heavy tasks.

I use a 13" Macbook Pro that I've had for 4 or 5 years with an external monitor and really like my setup. I still haven't decided what I'd get if I had to get a new laptop. I have a 13" Retina Macbook Pro for my work computer and it's amazing.

I had an iPad for about a year a couple years ago but ended up selling it because I never really used it.

Got a 13.3" MacBook Air last night. While it's not the newest, it will be perfect for what I need it for. Also, Best Buy is completely sold out of the new 12" MacBook in any color/model within 250 miles of me, which I find odd.

  12. Most Best Buy locations, until recently, were only required to have one of each Apple computer in stock at any given time. Unless there is a licensed Apple shop within the store, quantities are generally pretty low to match demand. It's usually better to buy straight from Apple anyway.

Hmm didn't know that. Usuually my Best Buy store keeps tons of stock on anything Apple it seems like. Nearest Apple location from me is two hours, so that's a bummer.

Plus the MBA was $100 cheaper at BB and my wife had $50 in Best Buy gift cards, so that made it easier for me last night, haha.

  14. Totally. It's great that BB stocks Apple for instances like yours and they seem to be increasing stock all over. They have a ton of accessories in my local BB that they didn't have even before Christmas. The real trade off is Apple Care, which has been a life saver many times over for my devices.

Best Buy, at least my local one, actually sells AppleCare now if you buy from them.

  16. I had no idea. In that case, forget everything I said. That's really awesome. Do you still have to take a broken device into an Apple Store to use the Apple Care?

Yep it still goes through Apple in the end

  18. Did you get Apple Care for your MacBook?

Yeah I did. It was $249. Same as getting it through Apple.

  20. I'm going to have to check this out at my local Best Buy. I always send people 45 minutes to the nearest Apple Store.

Haha, my Best Buy literally just started doing it at the beginning of the year. My local one is literally the biggest one I've seen though so it may be different elsewhere. I don't think the one 30 minutes away does it. They have signs over by the Apple section of the store showing you it can be purchased there.

  22. Ah, so you have an actual apple section. Most have like 2 computers displayed on an inconspicuous side of the store away from the PCs. :/

Oh yeah. iMac, MacBook, iPhone, iPod, iPad's literally all in a section together on display just like an Apple retail store. They also have an "Apple specialist" available at all times. I think we've discovered the difference here, haha.

  24. Most definitely. I've been to stores like that and it's awesome. I hear the specialists there get paid a lot more than the rest of the associates on the BB floor.

Interesting. I've always wondered if they were Best Buy employees or if they actually worked for Apple in some capacity.
