Why do people keep acting like the Switch Pro is going to happen in the near future? Like Nintendo long ago realized you can make inexpensive, slightly powerful consoles and print money. They haven’t tried since the GC days to have a contending console and to be brutally blunt, I don’t see them changing that anytime soon.

 

Nintendo legally can’t lie to their investors. There’s no Switch Pro coming this year. Don’t know why people keep saying there’s a chance. There isn’t.

 

Not being funny but what’s even the point in one? None of the games I’ve ever seen on them seem all that taxing and it isn’t as if they’re suddenly gonna get AAA console titles on it?

 

Are you questioning the company with 7 different versions of the 3ds?

 

The Switch is a portable console you can play on the go, there’s no reason to make a high end, 4K version that’s only available in dock mode. Plus, none of the games would benefit from being in that high of a resolution in the first place.

The only "rumours" about Nintendo that ever hold any weight are reported in the Japanese business newspaper The Nikkei and they also said there's not such thing as the Switch Pro. According to them, the thing Nintendo is working on that some have misconstrued as a Switch Pro is actually the follow up to the Switch, which makes sense, because every hardware developer is always working on the next console and it is very likely that the next Nintendo console will again be a hybrid.

So, maybe it might happen at some point, but it likely won't. What Anthony pointed out is true too.
