Kiiiinda but at the end of the day we aren’t together so stuff that’s supposed to be ‘romance’ usually misses the mark for us
But a couple reasons
-he got me Christmas presents and I didn’t get him anything bc I was too broke
-I really like birthdays and trying to be creative about how to celebrate them
-oh also bc I’m a fool mostly

 

Alright that’s all fair enough then. I’d personally would try to talk you away from it given your financial situation, but if you like birthdays, sometimes your happiness to matters.

 

Yeah idk kinda with Shak on this, no joy in presents coming from someone who isn’t really in the position to be giving them. Kinda makes me feel guilty receiving stuff in those kind of situations! Wouldn’t feel obligated as such if you’re not properly together - could just ask if he wants to do anything for it. But as you say, he blew off v day or something also? Idk trying not to look at it from a one-sided negative angle

 

It’s mostly just thoughtful but cheap things. The “big” gift was only like $22 and I ordered it over a month ago. Part of the stress was trying to make all my big ideas happen but at the end of the day yeah I just didn’t have the finances for it hah so I’ve been trying to scramble a plan B scenario together lol

 

I really try and make birthdays special with the least amount of money possible haha other than like I said the main gift I ordered when I was in a better spot financially. Also my mom threw in money too so one of the gifts is “from her” lol

 

Like mostly when I say I’ve been stressing at this point it’s over two things
-I want to buy him a game on steam (sentimental but cheap) but not sure if I should buy him a steam gift card or buy and gift the game through steam. This simple decision is stressing me out far more than it has the right to lol
- I’m putting together a scavenger hunt to find the gifts and that’s a stressful activity lol
