This is where I'm at too. I don't need something groundbreaking or intellectually deep being said in a pop punk song. I typically don't even criticize lyrics because I usually end up just glossing over them.

I just don't want to feel completely embarrassed singing along to the songs. I'm not going to pretend to be into singing about having napkins in my car. haha.

Honestly he probably comes from a conservative upbringing and now he lives in Tennessee, which is a red state. But this is the last thing I am writing about Chad's political beliefs...it does not matter to me (it might to many of you) and I do not like NFG any less because of it. If all the cheating on his past fiancees/wives is true, then he definitely has some knocks against his character. BUT...there are two sides to every story, perhaps the relationships were naturally falling apart as many times this does happen to people? Do not say I am a Chad defender here, I am trying to be indifferent. That's that from me.

Agree with this. The talk about teenage grooming is definitely really alarming. But as for the cheating I don't think we should really be using that as proof of him being a dirtbag, especially if we don't personally know him & his former partner, or understand what the state of their relationship was.

 

I mean, he literally has written lyrics crying about how he didn't want to deal with a depressed person and blamed her for her depression, on top of many other incredibly weird lyrics with his side project, literally left his wife to basically groom a teen, but sure. Two sides to every story. Right.

That's still taking a stance. One of ignorance and just ignoring what you find out is still a stance.

 

Whatever dude. I presented some facts obviously that are damning to members of this forum but I said I do not know the whole story with his relationships. Can you corroborate any of this?

Congrats for you. He's probably always been conservative, for he has the same free will as you and everyone else. But a conservative person would usually prefer to live in a place like Tennessee, probably would not make his home in, say, Oregon.

You guys do know that all states have all kinds of people right, winner-takes-all electoral maps are very misleading lol
