I watched BLG rehearse that album for like an hour on Facebook the other day, haha.

 

I agree with Pinkerton!

 

I think I would have looked at the album differently if I'd known it was meant to be a solo thing. As things were, I saw it mostly as a big step down. But I guess it hardly even belongs in the same conversation anyway.

Also, when I think of people who need cash, I think of the guy who in the last two years has written songs with Gavin DeGraw, Betty Who, Mat Kearney, Elle King, and blink-182. Dude is definitely this close to homeless.

Real talk I've always wondered, what's your favorite Gaslight song?

 

Probably not but I'll still give the whole thing a listen. It feels very American to me, haha. In that roll the windows down, turn the music up way which has never really been a thing for me.

 

It is definitely that, but the lyrics on this record are pretty top-notch. He's a storyteller above all. It's also pretty country-tinged this time around, though, which also doesn't seem to be your thing.

 

I'm a big fan of storytelling in music though, so maybe reading through with the lyrics will make the album for me. I'm weird with Country, I think I'm more into country tinged things than full on country. Idk, I'm very open to it.

 

Lights and Sounds is my favorite Yellowcard album.
