I still think Bernie or Warren winning outright is best, but as I said yesterday I legit feel Tammy Baldwin walking out of a contested convention with a platform that takes the "best" (i.e. most popular) parts of each of the candidates platforms is far from a terrible outcome. Would be a good way to unify the party and definitely be better than Biden or Pete or Bloomberg. (and I'm sure the Biden/Pete/Amy fans would say the same thing about it being better than Sanders or Warren)

  7. Is your Tammy Baldwin obsession gonna be like @MysteryKnight's Gillibrand thing? Heh. I'm pretty confident in saying: that ain't gonna happen.

With tony evers having no power, I don't feel comfortable losing a Wisconsin senator right now even if it is a historically very blue seat

What is your solution to a contested convention that doesn't wind up pissing off half the party?

  11. Actually, go with Paul Rudd. Paul Rudd would unite us all.

  12. None. It's going to a blood bath of absolute horrific proportions if it gets to that.

  16. If it's a contested convention because Bernie has a plurality of delegates but not a majority and they steal it from him hopefully that will finally destroy the party

If they go with one of the candidates, sure.

Wouldn't that mean looking outside of the candidate pool for a compromise would be the right move to make?

  20. If they don't go with one of the candidates as well. You think the people that did all they can for the past 24 months or more for these candidates, raised money, knocked on doors, made calls, voted, are gonna be like "oh, sure, give it to someone that's done nothing this entire time" calmly? It will be chaos unlike anything we've seen in our lifetime.

But they aren't gonna be happy either way unless their candidate is the one who gets the nomination. They are gonna need to put that happiness aside for the good of the party and the good of the country. If you go with one of the candidates, the people who supported the other candidates will walk away feeling like they lost and the other guys won. If you go with a compromise everyone can hopefully walk away feeling like sure their candidate didn't win but at least the party was able to come together.
