You should message the band members and tell them to be less problematic, and then maybe everyone could just talk about music.

Let me repeat myself since you seemed to not comprehend: it’s about Blink, it’s relevant to this thread. No if’s, and’s, or but’s about it.

Make who change, Blink? How do you think we could do that? I’m extremely interested in anything that might allow me to listen without my pesky conscious getting in the way, so I’m all ears

I think it's relevant and that there's nothing wrong with discussing the problematic nature of members of the band. I'm certainly not defending Matt or blink at this point.

I think it's when we attack and insult others for continuing to listen to the band that's going too far. You don't know what kind of emotional connection someone has to that music. And I'm not talking about responding to people with very ignorant statements that brush off Matt's behavior, either. That's totally fair. But I've seen some snarky comments making fun of posters for discussing the bands music.

I wish people would speak a little kinder to each other in this thread.

I’m pretty sure the collective agreement is that people here are anti racism and against violence.

For some the bands actions are disappointing or concerning, but it’s not enough to make them stop listening, yet. For others, the band crossed a moral line at some point and they can’t support them anymore. Both are fine.

But people can make up their own minds.

So share facts, thoughts, opinions, things you’re looking forward, things you don’t like, but please just try and respect other people’s opinions too. Keep in mind this thread is about all things Blink related.

I actually agree with a lot of this, how people choose to process these things in regard to their continued support of the band and/or relationship with the music is personal and not everyone will make the same choice.

But,

I won't respect any opinion that doesn't think that what Matt is promoting on his social media is wrong.

 

People can process however they want. But if they choose to do it publicly, especially by continuing to promote the band, then they should fully expect people to have a problem with it.
