He somehow just tied Hillary getting security briefings to Huma being married to Anthony Weiner.

You can support an idea/issue while at the same time conceding that it's a states rights issue. It doesn't have to be a one size fits all approach. I for one don't hate the idea of the federal government not dictating on an issue a state could handle.

I think an argument could be made that states are not adequate handling these issues?

Federal government doesn't need to set the minimum wage across the country, as the cost of living in rural Oklahoma is very different than the cost of living in NYC. But the federal government should ensure everyone can make a living wage and if you are willing to leave that up to the states, you don't actually support it.

If we're speaking purely economically, minimum wage laws would ideally be administrated at the lowest level possible to account for variance in cost of living. $10 is reasonable for a federal floor. You can live very comfortably on that salary where I'm from.

EDIT: As a single adult, although I did have an employee at my factory support three kids and a wife on 8.00/hour. That was superhuman to me, though. And they laid off the fucker after he worked through a placement agency for 2 years because their contract with the agency ran out and the new one wouldn't take him on with a drug conviction. Watching that guy generate profit for that company for so long and exponentially outperform his pay to then only be thrown away was a pretty important moment in my life. But I fucking digress.

I could see 10 being the number - unfortunately a change to 15 would see a lot of people lose their jobs initially I think.

Yeah I donno if the proper floor is $10 or $12 or $15 or whatever (ideally it should be automatically recalculated based on cost of living). But Trump isn't coming out in support of a $10 national floor. As far as I understand, he is just saying he thinks $10 would be good but still wants to let the states go lower if they want.

A living wage would probably be around twenty-five dollars an hour, if we are including free time and other costs pertinent to living a decent life.

  13. The irony of the guy that didn't believe Obama's real birth certificate refusing to release tax records is quite funny.

Also, I just read a portion of Bill Clinton's speech. That portion about Muslims was particularly terrible/racist.

I think her blatantly circumventing an investigation by deleting the emails and potentially putting the country at risk is slightly more offensive than someone making a joke about it

Not sure if it's his general ignorance and terrible opinions etc. causing this, but his hand gestures drive me bonkers.

Like, that he used the n-word doesn't signify disrespect. It just signifies that he shares more in common with white Americans than we thought.
