Mothers of the Movement are speaking at the DNC and it's a beautiful display of unity behind a cause that a lot of Democrats could learn from.

 

So much yes

 

yeah it's weird how in some situations we're very rightly against public shaming, like with that women in the gym, but other times everyone is all ¯\_(ツ)_/¯ and just forgets that everyone is a human being with feelings

 

So weird seeing no American flags in there outside of the state signs.

 

what about it that angers you?

I want to move beyond anger to pity for these people, but I don't know how to do that. I can't imagine.

 

I feel like it's encouraging violence and we have enough of that to go around. And no I don't think movies cause people to be violent. But I do think as a nation we are becoming more and more desensitized to violence and I don't get encouraging more for the sake of "entertainment."

Bill looks like Erlich Bachman.

 

Those sideburns! Looks like a bum, or a World of Warcraft player

Oh man, they were well fed? Well that changes everything, like the pesky fact that they were considered property. Classic O'Reilly!

 

Same argument has been made for Southern plantation slaves and how their owners treated them fairly, gave them adequate lodging and food.

 

Pretty decent speech overall, mainly used to highlight her experiences as a change maker. This DNC seems like a whole breath of fresh air compared to the RNC last week

 

I love watching The Daily Show mocking Sanders supporters who won't vote for Clinton and basically shoving the two-party monopoly down the viewers' throats.

I seriously can't watch this show since Stewart left.

 

Watching all those majority white women crying tears of joy over a first female president, I can't help but wonder how I'd feel about a first Asian president.

 

Apparently FOX refused to air the Mothers of Movement speech.

 

Probably not the same. Female Americans account for half the population and Asian Americans are just over 6% so the fact that we haven't seen a female president in over 200 years and through 44 male presidents is a much bigger disparity. Not trying to downplay the prejudice Asians face here at all, but it's definitely not the same.

 

I was pretty happy seeing a Muslim mayor in London.

 

Or coming full circle and having a Native American president would be great too
