I know it's gonna be limited space but I definitely gotta get into that Dallas house show somehow.

 

I'm gonna have to find out where Afro House is and get tickets!

 

they are selling tickets right now for that first show. I assume they'll reveal the location if you get tickets. I tried tweeting them to find out about tickets for the other shows, but I guess they'll come in time. Just keep an eye on their Big Cartel page.

when I looked originally, the Dallas date wasn't on sale, then I came back an hour later and it was sold out.

 

Guns and roses is supposedly playing wrigley in Chicago on July 27th. Local radio station gave the info away on a ticket give away

Not sure which thread this fits in best but this one is huge so I'll post it here (if there's a better place for it please let me know!)
Where/how do you keep up with new music videos? I have no trouble keeping up with new singles & albums, & listen to 4-5 hundred new albums a year, but I'm over a decade behind on music videos, & I want to change that

 

I don’t keep up with music videos in the way I do with albums, but I have to imagine the best way is to just subscribe to bands’ YouTube channels. I’ll usually watch new ones from bands I really like once, but it’s rare for me to find a video that I want to return to. There are exceptions that stand on their own artistically (OK Go videos), add a layer to the song (The Menzingers’ “I Don’t Wanna Be An Asshole Anymore”), or are extremely weird (Jimmy Eat World’s “555”).

Holy shit I've never watched a Menzingers music video, are you about to change my life? I think I've seen The Middle and that's it from JEW, & they're in my top 5 artists of all time, I gotta get on that. I'm with you on OK Go, so crazy they've stuck to that shtick for so long & it doesn't feel overdone. I think you're right about subscribing to artists' channels though, I guess I need to get on that

Glad to see Chase Atlantic on there, and that they'll be touring this summer.

But uhhhh, weird that Melanie Martinez is still that big given everything that came out in the past few years. Also weird that Angels & Airwaves is above Blackbear.

Also subscribe to the labels youtube channel of the bands you like. I do a weekly search for music videos and I tend to just do the labels as well as search for "video" on this site. On top of that because it's a weekly thing for me the youtube recommendations usually pick up the newer stuff that isn't on one of the labels paged or isn't posted on Chorus.

 

It just makes no sense at all. Literally looks like they drew acts out of a hat and said alright there we go.

Yeah it’s always terrible. Sometimes a solid day lineup will come out of it, but this year is 100% yikes.

 

Those artists are fine but together it makes a trash lineup
