Its very difficult to imagine a scenario where a President ever gets impeached. Even if they're openly admitting to crimes on live television and boasting about how corrupt they are (not that far from where we are now) its hard to believe they want have at least 34 Senators in on the scheme.

Even if Democrats had a huge Senate majority, where they'd be running the trial and cutting the bullshit, showing all the evidence, all the witnesses etc., gaining massive public support, you'd only need 34 Senators in on the schemes to be clear. Its real easier to take over the country.

 

Has anyone pushed back on this “invalid subpoenas” argument from trumps lawyers? Like directly said “there is no argument that these subpoenas were invalid, that’s literally just a made up argument with no law theory behind it”?

 

Also this dude is waxing about the equal power of the branches even though he’s making an argument that would make the Executive Branch all powerful.

he’s also saying congress is just trying to make a parliamentary system by making impeachment easy and a vote of no confidence but like...you still have to get 2/3rds to remove, dude. Not the same thing as a vote of no confidence.

 

Dershowitz basically arguing that the right wing propaganda machine has worked so well to warp brains over the last 15 years that we can’t impeach because it won’t be accepted.

There will never be a deal like that because the GOP knows they won’t get a proportional win by calling Hunter Biden. They could call Hunter Biden tomorrow if they wanted to, they have 53 votes. They could have written it into the procedures that time would be reserved for Hunter Biden’s compelled testimony, but they didn’t. They know that exchanging Bolton for Biden isn’t going to get them anywhere. All this talk of the Republicans calling witnesses is just posturing, nothing more.

Any mention of calling the Bidens is just a threat, they don't actually want to do it, they don't want to call Bolton and are threatening to make things a drawn out mess. If they thought calling Hunter would help them they'd be doing it now.
