Re visited De Loused last night, and boy does that record hold up.

Then went down a rabbit hole on Wikipedia about the band. This band has such an intense history it’s ridiculous. Like just the people in their lives who’ve passed away, and how it affected their music is crazy in its own right. Then you throw in the story about the ouija board during the recording process of Goliath which sounds fucking nuts. Now I definitely need to listen to that album.

omar is known to sit on albums for a long time and then randomly release them. at least with his solo work...

but i bet they don't want to release that album without playing some shows supporting it, and the timing isn't working out for it. i'll forgive them for not releasing antemasque if they are working on that new mars volta album!

I don’t think we’re seeing Volta for quite awhile. With Cedric’s fight against Danny Masterson and Juan in a coma or whatever, I won’t be shocked if it just plain doesn’t happen at this point.

 

Why would anybody want to listen to something with Travis Barker involved in the year 2020?
