Good move by the league.

 

i cant even begin to fathom how the lakers as a team and organization are dealing right now. this has to be the move.

 

cheapest seats i found were over a grand

 

Glad they’re postponing the game if the players feel it’s necessary, worried about the person who dropped $11K for two seats in the 100s level like twenty minutes ago

 

oh man, it all just keeps piling on. I'm not even sure how people can keep playing after this.

 

Kobe's been my hero since I was ten years old. He was only 7 years older than me and he got drafted! To my favorite team! He inspired me to go out and shoot hoops every single day after school. I was never any good but I loved practicing my Kobe fade-away and myself and my cousin would lower the rim and play Kobe / Shaq in the front yard and I would throw him ally-oops. The loss has hit me harder than I can really explain, it's like losing a family member. And to think of all the families shattered in this tragedy, this is all so difficult to deal with.

 

I needed this Cavs game tonight.

I’ve really been trying to find the words for the last 24 hours and it’s been really hard. I think all of us who are around the same age (I’m 30) have to feel like we lost a part of ourselves yesterday. Kobe was the guy my friends and I emulated in our front yards. I wrote a post on Instagram today talking about how I had a quirk/habit of biting my collar/shirt when I played basketball and it’s probably something I subconsciously picked up from Kobe who used to do that all the time. I can’t help but feel I took my love for Kobe for granted. He just seemed invincible. I pictured losing a lot of my favorite athletes and how it would make me feel but I never once considered Kobe would die young. That’s a guy who was so in control of every facet of his life. We don’t realize the impact these athletes have on us until it’s too late sometimes. I was at work yesterday when I found out and me and one of my coworkers just sat stunned, both silent, trying to make sense of it. It’s gonna take a bit to really get over what the loss means for the sport.

Surreal rewatching his last game right now. I remember that night. I was late picking up a friend from the airport because Kobe started going off and I couldn't bring myself to leave while it was happening.
