The rumble probably will be the main event, so it starts at 7 but you obvi don't have to watch it all, i'd say around 10 PM?

I asked my mom if I could take one of those bathroom scrubs from her house and she was like “oh your friends will make fun of you because all I have are pink ones”

and I was like if they judge me for having a pink scrub; they are the worst kind of person

I really should not be as mad about this as I'm being right now. Ugh I'm just gonna drop it, it's not worth the ranting.

Anybody who is sad today and mourning Kobe Bryant is absolutely well informed of allegations about him in the past. How they’ve worked through those personally is their business, but it’s very clear this man meant something to a whole ton of people, and there are 3 young girls today without a father and sister and a woman now suddenly without a husband and a child. Coming in here and just dropping “remember when he got accused of rape” offers absolutely nothing to any sort of conversation or moment where folks are just simply trying to grieve someone they clearly admired or respected. That’s all i’ll say.

yeah, it's really just not worth it. and I agree with you fwiw. I think the rape allegations are detestable but I can still be incredibly sad that he and his daughter (and several others) died in such a tragic way. it's not one or the other for me. life isn't black & white and to look at it in that way just kind of saddens me. but we're each entitled to our opinions and that's fine. I wish no ill will towards John for bringing it up. it is what it is

Memories are nice, but that's all they are. Prestigious

Obviously I have mixed feelings on Kobe. Detest him for the rape events. But he made efforts to atone and bring awareness to many social issues and promoted things like women’s basketball that does not get the attention/pay for the players it deserves. Obviously this doesn’t clear him of what he did. It’s a complicated mess with him, but I’m genuinely sad a family lost a daughter and a father.

Maybe I could have handled it better, but I don't think there's ever a bad time to bring up rape accusations.

I don't judge anyone for feeling sad about his death. He was an incredible player. My friend's dad took us to a game once and said "I hate Kobe Bryant, but you've just gotta see this guy play. It's unreal." And he was right.

I'm kind of a mess today though so I'm willing to accept that I could be wrong about a lot of stuff. My dad died a week and a half ago and I haven't slept a full night since. I didn't mean to cause an uproar in here.

John i'm so sorry to hear that, I lost my dad about 5 years ago unexpectedly but the pain was the worst thing I have ever felt. I miss him to this day and it took me a while to grieve over it. I know we don't know each other well but if you need someone to talk about that with i'm always ears and you can PM me. I have found peace with it and many silver linings with it personally but I don't know what your circumstances were.
