An icon to so many in my age group. Started watching the Lakers in ‘96, felt like i grew up with him. Crazy to think there are millions who can say the same. This one hurts like no other in the “I didn’t know the person but i feel like I did” category.

I knew who Kobe Bryant was when I didn't even like basketball as a kid. He was an icon. And even though I joined the "Fuck Kobe" train when I became a fan, I'm still shocked and sad. It's senseless. Kobe WAS basketball.
