I like some of it, but really dislike the “simmer down” part. The phrase bugs me and seems misplaced in the song. But I’m probably the only one feeling this way haha

I wasn't expecting a Paramore song from this... and of course it's not. It's different, not sure if I like it or not off of one listen/watch. I'm sure it'll grow on me.

this is really not an indictment of any of you, so please don't take it personally, but our culture is so fucked that a grown man can groom a teenage girl and cheat on his wife with her and it's even a question of what is wrong with him.

 

Wait, did he cheat on Hayley with a teenager or was Hayley that teenager?

 

Hayley was that teenager, but he also cheated on her too so who knows ¯\_(ツ)_/¯

 

Was it non-consensual? I always assumed she fell for him knowing he was married and obviously a cheater.

 

Whether or not it was consensual, it is amoral and unethical to pursue a teenager, let alone to do it while married.
