Yeah, that's a reay baffling choice for someone who's so outspoken on feminist issues to bring an abuser's work back into the spotlight.

Like, I get that it could be her way of trying to "reclaim the art" for herself, but I feel like she should know how bad the optics are and that it could be triggering for victims of his abuse.

This album is so good, but man that Alanis track really stinks, huh? Haha.

think i like the second half of this more than the first half. or maybe i was just burned out on music when i listened to the first half at the end of the day on Friday. "Still Learning" is a great song.

Man, they really fumbled the vinyl release. All retailers list the full sixteen song track listing, but as we now know, 3 tracks are missing from the pressing. Then, the packaging has a sticker indicating that the record includes a download card, but in fact, it's only a download of the three missing songs.

There's a deluxe version that is now sold out which also lists the full track listing, but no one seems to be able to confirm that it will include all sixteen songs. And now, even after release, the standard vinyl shows as having all sixteen tracks virtually everywhere.

Apologies if this was already posted, but I got my vinyl today and she thanks Brand New in the liner notes. Photo attached.

This album is so damn good. I haven't been into such a major release in ages, but this one is the best dang thing. Also, I heard Fork & Knife immediately upon it coming in - I was just like "wow weird this sounds like the exact same drum part" welp. I hope that this is a reflection of where pop music is heading because I love this sound.

Oh, wow. I'd be so sad if I bought this and it didn't have 929 on it.

it's also really unfair to Alanis who's been vocal about being preyed upon at 14 by an older man in the industry

If we want to talk about “bad looks”, maybe a grown ass man telling a woman of color who is outspoken about feminist issues and her own experiences of sexual assault to “get fucked” is not a “good look.”

  18. I was pissed off and reacted in a way I shouldn't have and I apologise. Still very disappointed she's done this but I could have phrased it better, sorry.

There’s a longer post to be made here but I’m not really in a place to make it. I appreciate you recognizing it was a knee jerk and extreme but I’m not really interested in, or asking for, an apology nor am I the one who’s owed one. I’m just tired of the culture around here and the way serious discourse is discussed by the (largely white, cis, straight, male etc) Community. Tired of reductive shit and performativity. It’s not moving the conversation forward, in fact I would argue it’s not even a conversation half the time, and it honestly just makes me want to unplug entirely.

I think those comments come from the "Forever... (is a long time)" to "3 am" stretch. It's very like... big sounding and theatrical, much like A Fever You Can't Sweat Out, My Chem, FOB. You can just hear her those influences a lot in there

even then "3am" sounds more like the cross-pollinated emo-pop of the later '00s. solid early demi lovato single with a curse word

Yeah I don't agree with this album being Fever-y at all, any scene influence really just feels like the internet forcing it into existence because they want it.
