I only watched the Feeling This clip to see what everyone was talking about and you could see it on Mark’s face with his smile during the chorus he heard Tom’s voice, so I’m assuming he heard what we did.

I feel like Mark was doing the "stay calm, if you don't freak out nobody else will freak out" thing haha

  4. I wonder how audible it was from the crowd

Tom was clearly backstage doing backups.

That's what I want to know too. The audio mix via the live feed was a little off ala the NINE release mini concert where the audio would go in and out on the live feed but people at the show said it sounded fine. I wonder if people even realized it or not.

I don't want this to be taken the wrong way, nor am I criticizing, but has anyone noticed Matt's "appearance" changing lately? I only mention it because I hope everything is okay in his life. Hopefully that makes sense.

Really really hope they tour Nine and give it some decent amount of real estate in the setlist.

    Sith Lord.

He was on top of his game when he got sober from alcohol after the horrible Chicago show for the 1st Sekrets album. He was like forgetting lyrics and fucking up songs on stage.. When "My Shame Is True" came out, it felt like it was his apology album but then he got in to blink and I think that blink cash and fame may be fuckin with him.

Going by history of their set lists for album tours since Untitled they usually play 5 to 6 songs from the album.

Finally got around to those I Heart live videos. Yeah I just cannot believe the sound was that bad. Like, horrendous. Chorus vocals in the background so loud that it was like echoing mark and Matt.

A few points some of which you'll hate:

    1) Sound screw up seems very very very intentional on someone's part. They have their own sound engineer on payroll. They know all the cues. They have access to all the tracks. You don't just "accidentally" play Tom's part.

    2) If Matt doesn't seek some help he's going to be added to the list of former members on blinks wiki.

    3) The album rollout of Nine still seems weird considering they went on one tour which was a full album tour for a different album and they have been largely quiet since last summer.

    4) Anthony Ronald McDonald and I feel the same way about Nine.

    5) Marks a champ.

I can get behind all of these statements except #4, as I don’t know who that is

Well, he looks like he's gained a little weight which can be good or bad I suppose. In the past when he's had some problems with substance he never seemed to be gaining much weight AFAIR, he always seemed to lose weight. So hopefully he's just gaining a little weight because he's eating more than he used to when he was abusing drugs and alcohol and such.

The weird thing about the backing tracks is that (to me) they dont seem to sound exactly like the album vocals by Tom. Seems like they're previously un-used backing vocals Tom may have recorded back in the day...which makes it even worse.

The album rollout of NINE was weird but it had more to do with them not having the album finished in time for their summer tour, hence why they did the 20 year Enema tour. Mark has stated numerous times in the past that he hates playing new songs live before they're released because he doesn't want someone listening to it the first time from a phone video on Youtube.

They're going to tour Europe in the summer which I'm going to assume will be in support of NINE (I wouldn't be shocked if they released a deluxe album/EP around that time too) and will probably do a mini US tour before and after the Europe one.

I think some of them are just his recorded harmonies so it's not usually the most prominent thing you hear on the record, but it's still a take from the album.... All of the backing tracks that were way too prominent in this live mix were just all of the parts Matt would need to sing even when it's supposed to towards the background.

Another weird thing about this set (the YouTube mix at least) is that the backing guitar was SO prominent in the left channel. On all of the old Tom songs you could hear the studio recorded guitars almost louder than Matt's live guitar in the right channel. So weird.

I think it's just Matt's in-ear mix – Tom's vocals to match pitch with and original guitar on the left, his guitar on the right.

Let's hold our breath until we disappear

I thought it was interesting there were even Tom vocals in the chorus of The Rock Show. He would only sing that part live, so I wonder which recording was used.

Yes, they're all just reference tracks, but the volume difference between Tom's songs and Matt's songs is what was weird to me.

He sings "Fell in love", "She said what", etc. on the album too. It's just mixed in unison with Mark whereas live they would just trade off during this part. It's still just the normal take from the album.

  25. When I saw Blink at Back to the Beach last April, the backing keyboard track on "Anthem" was so obnoxiously loud. Like, it's not even crucial, guys! Just don't use backing tracks unless they're absolutely necessary. If you need them to help you stay on pitch or play guitar better in order to sound even halfway decent live, mayyyyybe consider someone else for the job...
