Is it though? Though I guess it is weird to have such a swing in 4 years, outside of straight sexism. Populism sprung up pretty quickly.

All anyone is said is do not invoke this white savior complex, in which your vote saves us. This has been the argument for decades and it has been demonstrated to be patently false every time. Invoke your own white, bullshit. That you cannot is demonstrative of the sense in which you require black, brown and other marginalized people as props to justify a state of affairs where they suffer.

I've never really thought much of it. I'll give her one thing: she really does seem to exude a certain authenticity and effortless kindness. She would have likely made a stellar politician herself.

What did Sarah Silverman say? I really like her.

  5. She said the Bernie or bust people are being ridiculous

    Hahahaha

I rewound the convention to see what she said and it was "you guys are ridiculous" in a playful way. And immediately MSNBC rolls the "BREAKING NEWS" at the bottom saying "SARAH SILVERMAN: BERNIE-OR-BUSTERS ARE BEING 'RIDICULOUS'"

I take back my post. That wasn't playful. Turns out those cocks at MSNBC read the tone correctly.

    I am disappointed in her.

Oh, to be young and actually find Cory Booker inspiring instead of nauseating.

Feelings on Corey Booker are a pretty good litmus test for being woke

I confused Paul Simon with David Simon and got super excited for a second.

I'm surprised she's there considering she was an early Bernie supporter

He's a neoliberal who parades as a bleeding heart progressive while taking money from private interests and selling out his constituents. There's a Guardian article on him a few pages back, I believe. He was known as a prodigious future star early and was purchased right out of school.

Booker is a prodigal pro-corporate pro-charter anti-social service dem. he hides behind socially liberal speeches but as mayor of newark he proceeded over a shit fucking ton of police misconduct which he never handled adequately. very pro-charter and pro-corporations. plus booker is supposedly an asshole behind the scenes

edit: forgot he's also very very pro-israel

This contributes nothing to anything, but just saw Bernie drop his speaking notes (I'm assuming) on the people in front of him while listening to Booker and lol'd way too hard.

Well I think he just had his Obama 2004 moment, so you guys might wanna get used to him lol

I thought he had 2024 or 2020 locked up already as long as he stayed out of scandal and all that, but that speech probably just sealed it. If Trump wins, he'll be the nominee in 2020. If Hillary wins, it'll be him in 2024.

I think the only person with a shot of taking him down is a younger Bernie..someone who is far left and can speak on issues in a way that Bernie is pretty incapable of, honestly.

Sadly, I don't think there's anyone in the Democratic Party or an Indy who can turn dem like Bernie out there that can pull off a rise to presidential candidate in 4 or 8 years. Their bench of up and comers is going to mostly be in the Obama mold of run of the mill liberal with some leftist tendencies on some issues and centrist on the others. And that's because they all got their start in public service during a time when the major leagues had lost a bunch of elections and moderated out to win again.

Hopefully there's some far lefty state sen/rep that can rise to governor and/or a national senate seat in the next 2-4 years.

I think he had that moment in 2012. He's the future of the Dems. A highly profitable neolib who has laid a foundation of progressive rhetoric and hollow populist gestures.

I wonder who he'll choose as his VP....his Vegan Pal.
