  1. Your argument seems to be that she should lie about what she experienced.

wrap yourself in petals for armor.

Normally I would agree, however the entire story stems from a bad faith exchange of information by the Warren campaign specifically designed to put this narrative out there.

And your argument seems to be you know for a fact what she experienced.

  6. Gotta be honest it would be cool if this thread moved on. We all feel how we feel and no one's going to change.

Yeah she'd have been better off with an "enough about the damn emails" moment.

I do think there's a larger than small possibility that she thinks she could risk pissing off the women in her campaign and the more feminist side of her support if she was seen as trying to lie for/cover up/capitulate on what she originally experienced to help a man out. Maybe that didn't enter her mind at all but I feel like it would have to if she's as great a 'thinker' as we all think she is

  10. There are a thousand ways to state virtually anything, let me ask you, do you think beside a complete mea culpa, any statement she released would have passed muster? Because from what I'm seeing, I don't.

Which would lead me to believe, she really does think that's what he said to her during the meeting.

And if he wins he'll need her base, how does this help that?

And how is "they shoulda known they'd be on the end of endless harassment" represent Bernie well?

  11. Yes, I am coming from this from the stance of believing that neither of them are lying. I've said that multiple times and explained why.

"bernie and i had a private conversation in 2018 about which of us would have the best chance at beating trump in 2020. obviously we disagreed which is why we're both on stage tonight. but i know bernie and he's not a sexist. i also know when I get the nomination bernie will be there to support me and my campaign."

I do wonder how open the line of communication was between the two campaigns.

To me, the best outcome for this (assuming as Jason does that they are both not lying here) would have been for the two to speak and, once Bernie realized how Warren perceived their conversation, for them to jointly come out with something to the effect of

"We are friends and we had a frank discussion when Senator Warren informed me that she was intending to run. I'm embarrassed and ashamed to learn that I left her with the impression that a woman could not win in 2020. I have apologized and she has accepted that apology. We will not let media driven feuds disrupt what we are both fighting to achieve. I intend to win this nomination and win the presidency. But in the event that Senator Warren is the nominee, the world will soon learn that a woman can win in 2020."

And of course Warren would release a similar statement

So, all this drama aside, Warren's weakest thing (which was pointed out by the moderators) was the perception of voters had about her as CiC and foreign policy and it seemed like she answered questions on those issues relatively well. Could explain the good news for her here.

    Nope. Supporter

I agree that it's most likely both sides interpreted how the conversation went differently, but when the running narrative right now is that "Bernie is sexist," I would think, idk, I would say something that's actually opposing that specific labeling
