yeah this is excellent, i love what ive heard of awful though ive really only gotten extremely into slugger and father. i fucking love slug christ.

abra, ethereal, tommy genesis, archibald all have great releases within the past year, some in 2015 that i think are very much worth listening to

 

ive checked out abra, ehtereal, archie, lord narf and tommy but havent dont repeat listens of the projects i have. need to dive deeper.

 

I recently got really into Abra. Really love the album she released last year but she just released an EP called Princess that I'm still warming up to. Definitely feel that she's occupying an R&B sound that feels very "new."

 

yeah princess is good, she has a ton of potential

 

Just got back from a Vic Mensa show and it felt like a punk show. So fucking dope

Man i like yachty but slug christ's vocals are basically the worst ive heard in the genre, at least imo. Maybe id dig it if he changed his technique bc the beat is killer

Saw Vince Staples live this past weekend at wayhome fest, unbelievable. Easily the best set I saw the entire weekend. He played a new song that sounded amazing. The only sad thing was you could tell he was (justifiably) annoyed by how the crowd was basically 99% white people. Having thousands of white dudes cheer when vince asked "who he loves the police" was horribly uncomfortable. Heck, even when he says "can I get all the black and brown people in the crowd to raise there hands" every white dude thought they were being acknowledged and joined along, was absolutly brutal.

 

Rich Chigga is a fascinating case study, would love a documentary in a few years

 

Still not a fan how rich chigga has one song out and he uses the n-word in it. Nobody's talking about it. Personally not interested in listening to a non-black rapper use black art while also using racist language. I say, fuck him

 

Saw Anderson .Paak on Friday and YG yesterday, so it was a great weekend.
